Dragons being two leged or four
quad or bipedl dragons do you like.
well i like both but seeing ember, flame, spyro and cynder on two legs would freak me out.
so i made this idea dragons born in the southern realms walk on two and the rest are fours

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
I think that as dragons grow older, their muscles in their legs get stronger and so they can stand on two feet

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
It's funny because some dragons in Spyro 1, when they were released from the crystal they would be standing on two legs or four, or sometimes both. Maybe it's just personal preference, or maybe they get into position depending on what hobby they're doing? *shrug*

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
I recall saying something about this kind of topic some time ago...
I think that young dragons can't stand on their hind legs since they're still not strong enough to support their weight. (trying to do this may result in injury and possibly falling flat on their back. In YotD, you see Spyro attempting to do this for a second.) After some length of time their muscles will be strong enough to allow them to do so.
@ Kazoobie64: The four-legged stance seems more efficient for flight and maximum protection provided by their scales. Since they can be (possibly) vulnerable at the chest and top of the head then it helps for the more acrobatic types. The two-legged on the other hand may be more social than physical.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
that basicly makes sense apart from the young not being able to stand on its hind legs because spyro did it in spyro 1 when he was being interviewed like i tihnk ive already said

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Yeah, and also some baby dragons that hatched had no problems with being on two legs, performing chicken dances and cartwheels and such. But it makes sense that Spyro would be on four legs most of the time considering he's always out and about adventuring.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Yeah when it comes down to it I think it's just personal preference and such...if I had to pick one that I would like to see...it would have to be on four legs...just more use to seeing that....but I think they all kind of have that ability...they just choose when to use it...and I guess it depends...like in Artisans...all the dragons were pretty much elegant speakers who were composed and stood up...while in Peacekeepers...they were all militaristic and muscular dragons...and they took a more aggressive pose on four legs....

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
so it basicly depends on where the dragons come from if they stand on their hind legs or not or out of personal choice to stand up

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well I think they all have the ability to do it...but it just might be more convenient for certain dragons to stay on all fours as opposed to being up on two legs...especially the large dragons.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Yeah I know man lol...just kinda seconding the comment...and yeah it depends on where they come from I suppose...though in Beast Makers their were a lot of heavy set dragons lol...I figured that they would want to be on all fours with all that weight lol...but I guess not...

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
I vastly prefer four-legged dragons. Its the way I've always seen them outside of the old Spyro games, and the two-legged form reminds me too much of the cartoon, Dragon Tales. I also might prefer it for aesthetic reasons. I tend to prefer stories about animals more than those about humans, and I prefer my animals to look like animals.

Yeah I do agree with that...I really like seeing them on four legs instead of two...just makes it feel more like classical dragons and such...but that's just me..

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
4 legged dragons r better than 2 legged dragons because ive grown up wiv dragons being dipictited as this so i dnt think they should stand on their hind legs really

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Yeah I think that's the feeling that most get about it...come to think of it the first time I ever saw a dragon on two legs was in Spyro the Dragon lol...but four is more natural.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well it was plenty natural to me way before Spyro game around....like I said I was use to all fours..and the first time I ever saw a dragon on two legs was in the original game....but yeah they did a good job with that in the LoS series.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well in the originals yes lol....Spyro was built for heavy gameplay by the time YotD rolled around...and Insomniac involved him in everything they could as far as a dragon was concerned....but he was still on four legs most of the time.
Certainly one of the things I enjoy more in the LoS series....I really like seeing them on four legs.

Re: Dragons being two leged or four
Well I don't think it is a horrible idea to do so...I guess I'm just more of a traditionalist lol....I like things to stay as they were meant to stay...but I didn't mind YotD at all....Insomniac still pulled that concept off just about perfectly to make it enjoyable...but yeah Sierra will not do that.
