MERRY CHRISMAS!!! CAN YOU SAY IT?!?!
I am so freaking tired of EVERYONE saying "Happy Holidays!" and "Season Greetings!" Say "Merry Christmas!!!!" please! But Wal-Mart last year had 3 signs up. The first one said-"Merry Christmas". The second-"Support our Troops". The third-"Behold, a son is born".
Kudos to Wal-Mart!

All the stuff about "Political Correctness" is ridiculous. I mean, who would get offending if there was a sign that said "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays"? And how Santa shouldn't say "Ho, Ho, Ho" anymore. ![]()

Re: MERRY CHRISMAS!!! CAN YOU SAY IT?!?!
"Happy Holidays" is a lot easier to say than "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Happy New Year".
There's no reason to just say Merry Christmas. It's retarded to even suggest that.
I don't see any reason to get offended by Merry Christmas, but conversely I don't see any reason to be offended by Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, etc.
But I think establishments such as Wal-Mart, Target, etc should have Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings, since people of all creeds shop there.

Re: MERRY CHRISMAS!!! CAN YOU SAY IT?!?!
Man you guys star off early....
Here the holiday madness and Happy New Year and all that crap starts like around 20th December......
But all in all I don't see why it bothers you....I really don't....
P.S. I myself don't give a crap about New Year, Christmas or any other holiday I find them boring and annoying the only good thing about them is the fact that I don't go to school for 2 weeks 'cause of them...

Re: MERRY CHRISMAS!!! CAN YOU SAY IT?!?!
Christ was taken out of Christmas a long time ago, fyi.
Now it's just a capitalized commercial holiday celebrated with sales and consumerism and greed by both families and the corporations.
Not to mention Jesus isn't real.
tl;dr: MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Yes, it was made into a commercial holiday in today's world, but that doesn't mean the true meaning isn't still there for some people.
Not to mention Jesus isn't real.
You got a big chunk of the world against you there.

I don't think anyone said they were offended of that. Christmas is the reason people are shopping, isn't it? It's not a big deal if people want to say Happy Holidays, it's just the way society has to look at it. Everything has to be politically correct nowadays.

Right, because people can't be shopping for birthdays, groceries, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or any other reason to go out shopping.
And yes, the "true meaning" of christmas still holds true, however if people understand the true meaning of christmas they wouldn't be out trampling people for material possessions, would they?

-Altresac is an atheist person who thinks he knows what is true. Wow, hes
an idiot if he says that christmas isn't about Jesus Christ any more, and it's
all about getting time off for school.
-You see, society has warped the whole world into believing all the wrong
things in the modern ntimes. Thanksgiving has become Turkey Day,
Christmas has become The Holidays because they are scared of the puny
little Atheists who try their hardest for the dumbest reason to go against
Christianity.
-In short, people need to pull themselves together and treat Christmas the
way it should be treated. It mainly starts off with calling it Christmas. IT IS
ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS, you know. If you take Christ out of
Christmas, you get Mas. "Happy Holidays" is a Mass of bull crap.
GOD BLESS
[I love you, Jesus]

Did I not say some people?
Right, because people can't be shopping for birthdays, groceries, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or any other reason to go out shopping.
The majority of shopping is Christmas shopping then, if you're going to be so critical.

Excuse me?
Calling it "The Holidays" covers more than just Christmas. The phrase isn't taking anything away from celebrating the birth of Christ, it's just including other holidays that happen during that time of the year.
-Altresac is an atheist person who thinks he knows what is true.
You know, most people think that their religion/beliefs are true.

Merry Christmas! Joyeux Noël! Feliz Navidad! Frohe Weihnachten!
XD, I'm quadrilingual though I only know a bit of German, unfortunately.
But yes, I personally enjoy Christmas, due to the fact that no one in my family is harsh to anyone else in the family on that day. It's the one day in the year where there's peace among my family, contrary to the usual discord that runs amok due to constant arguments, etc.

It's the holidays because- hey guess what- there is a world and celebrations that exist outside of your little bubble of jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezissssssssssssssss.
If you want to love Jesus and celebrate christmas fine, but just know that you'd be excluding the jews the same way "happy holidays" excludes you. But wait it doesn't exclude you at all. I guess the only thing that excludes anybody is "Merry Christmas". Oh well!

I think the main reason for the political correctness of "Happy Holidays" isn't just to cater to atheists and agnostics, but to respect people who have different religious beliefs that do not recognize "the birth of Jesus." If I believed in a religion that doesn't celebrate Christmas, I might not like being constantly pounded by the hype of a holiday that pays respect to only a certain religion.

Re: MERRY CHRISMAS!!! CAN YOU SAY IT?!?!
I have no religion and am purely into the commercial aspect of Christmas. I like the pretty lights, being able to spend time with my family, the cold, the pine tree scent and overall atmosphere. I also like to give stuff more than I like to receive it, which is why I stress out over what I'm going to get someone but when someone asks me what I want I just go "I dunno." So that's that.
Though I did celebrate Hanukkah with a friend and his family once. It was fun to learn about their religion and stuff, and they knew I wasn't Jewish and accepted it anyway.

- Yes, it really is the time of year to simply drive around looking at the
beautiful sets of Christmas lights people set up in their yards, and going
out with your family to shop for a Christmas tree. All of the activities,
including some of the prep work, is always a happy and fun time for the
family. Friends, too, have fun spending time together. The general mood of
Christmas time is a nice feeling that tells you all is good.
- Foster kids and children in adoption agencies get presents for Christmas.
Most of the presents are a cause from donations. A number of homeless
people are treated with love and recieve food or gifts. Many troops in Iraq
come home to see their beloved family, and to spend their precious time
having fun and sharing their love for each other.
- At night, a child is laying on the sofa in the living room, watching the
different-colored Christmas lights on the Christmas tree flicker around and
change colors. He sees the pretty light reflecting off of the ornaments and
shiny wrapping paper of the presents. Knowing he is in a safe place, he
slowly falls asleep, knowing that the next day will be filled with laughter
and glee as his family gathers in the living room to spend their Christmas
day which only comes once a year.

It doesn't bother me to see Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. I've even seen Merry Holidays, lol.
But you'll never find me saying Happy Holidays. Just have a Merry Christmas.
Or to make everyone happy ...
