Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

Hey everybody.
With the talk that TLOS is over, what are they going to do next?
Well some people are suggesting they go back to the old Spyro's.
But if they do, i know I and many other Fans would like to actually make it seem like TLOS wasn't a waist of Time and actually connect the 2 series.
Now I know many of you are going to say "YOU CAN'T CONNECT THE SERIES OMG ITS A REBOOT!!!!!1111111111ONEONEONE" well i know that the developers have stated it's a reboot, but before they did they were really umming and urring about whether it was or not anyway, so they CAN change it back to a prequel. So basicly i made this topic to show how the developers can fill in all the missing inconvieniences and such.
My Spyro The Dragon timeline ( http://www.spyroforum.com/topic-7322-sp … eline.html ) explains some of the inconveniences about connecting the series, but on here i will go into more detail and really explain things. Not only about TLOS to Original connectivity, but plotholes in general. Some things here you wont have to agree with, and you wont, i wont expect you to, but none the less might be interesting.

Inconvenience 1: Geography
We can see in DOTD that the Dragon world is actually round, which would make the statement in YOTD wrong: "The other side of the world".
Ok, he could mean just an island on the complete opposite side of the world, but i think we can see that most of the world is covered in land, not water, and if it was just the other side of the world, what would stop someone just flying to the other side? there would need to be some barrier because the worlds are supposed to be isolated from each other.
Also, in DOTD, Avalar appears to be on the same planet as the dragon realms. This is not right in the originals, as Avalar is expressed as a new world and hints show it is.

Solving This Inconvenience:
At the End of DOTD, the world is seen breaking apart. Basicly The Dragon realms we know, the forgotton realms and Avalar were all together once in one normal planet but were broken apart in DOTD:

Spyrogeography.jpg

The Forgotton Worlds and the Dragon realms stuck to each other by a long tube of land and made an apple core shape. Avalar and another unknown piece of land seperated from the planet it was originally home to and made their own planets. Little crums of land broke off but orbited the large chunks of land (which explains why Some Spyro levels are just floating in the air). The football shaped chunks known as the forgotton realms and dragon realms got rounded off eventually and inside their large clumps was a gravitational pull. Avalar got rounded off and became a small planet. A large load of land also came off the dragon realms and hung above the dragon realms , and is now known as the faerie realms.
The reason why it always seems like the same time if day is because the planets dont spin like Earth does, Some Places face the suns some dont. And yeah, there's 2 suns which 1 faces towards the forgotton realms and one the Dragon realms. The Chunks of land block the sun from the other chunk's view.
Now,
After Hunter of avalar became a hero for halping to defeat the dark master, hunter became a name for many male born cheaters in avalar, including the hunter that we met in Spyro 2.
I think that's it for Geography, If you want to ask something or criticise, please feel free to post. I'll have more inconveninces up later.

Inconvenience 2: Names
Basicly, TLOS spyro's myth passed down the generations but was eventually lost. 30, 000 years later, when Old Spyro was born, the only thing left of TLOS spyro's legacy was the meaning of his name, which they adopted after TLOS Spyro defeated the Dark Master.
"Spyro" meant, "THe one who breathed life back into the Dragons (or the world, whatever), From inside the Terror (or darkness" which eventually got lost in translation and by the time when Old Spyro was born was simply "The one who breathed fire from the inside." When Old Spyro was born, he breathesd fire from the inside of his shell to brake it open, and that's why he gained the name "spyro" yet no one ever talks about TLOS Spyro. As for Sparx, the name could've also been passed down just meaning "Sparkling, gold Dragonfly" or something.
As For Hunter, i have already explained that in Geography, but anyway, simply After Hunter of Avalar helped Spyro defeat the Dark Master, it became tradition to name Male born cheaters "Hunter" after him. That is why the hunter we met in Spyro 2 was called "hunter".
It Is much of a coincidence, or maybe it was fate....

Inconvenience 3: Dragons
When dragons evolved, their powers grew and grew until dragons lived for around 10, 000 years old or more. They were all very powerful and violent, and all had many abilities. Because there was too much chaos in all the Dragon Kingdoms in different planet around, the Dragon race decided thaat they would develve. Dragons started losing powers, Living for much less and becomming more intelligent until by the time the chronicler was born, dragons had a fully formed language, could build cities and construct governements, but could only live for around 2000 years, only purple dragons had more than one powers and the rest had one. So dragons kept living for less and less, by the time tlos spyro was born, dragons lived for only 1000 years.
after the defeat of the DM, purple dragons who were born could no longer weild more than one ability, and soon spirit gems could not be used as energy for dragons yet dragons evolved to do abilities without spirit gems (such as Old spyro's fire power).
By the time Old Spyro was born, dragons lived for a maximum of around 200-300 years, their abilities were pretty lame but they were more intelligent than ever before!

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

That would be pretty sweet to see man.....but I don't think that they are gonna involve the old Spyro games in the future. They even verified that they were gonna keep running with the LOS story and characters.....but it is a pretty cool idea.

It's too bad that some of us average fans can't write the script for the next story lol. If they somehow managed to connect all of these different worlds......were talking interesting..

It's a good theory no doubt....I think an author has already tried that concept....all but a little bit different.

I'm pretty sure that jamieque has done a story very much like that...but I would have to go back over it...he has not updated in awhile.

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

I gotta say, going from doom and gloom to playing cat hockey is a pretty big stretch. I think if they were going to connect the old series with the new, they would've done it in DotD, and they didn't.

It'd be nice to see some things from the old series come back, though (like more than one female character).

Yeah...if they could combine some of the characters and open gameplay with the new series..that would be awesome...but alas I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Too bad...

But i'm basicly saying that if they did decide to connect the series they could. I'm sure that even though the setting and mood is different, it could still be connected.

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

Your theory is very interesting. Since you mentioned that the planet broke apart, and the dragons became smarter, then the dragons could have built all the portals to the different lands.

C'mon Razz! if they did it right, it wont seem like TLOS was just a waste of time. I find nothing wrong with connecting the 2 series, especially if they do it my way and spread it out across much time.

Ofcource I'm not like some people and suggest that the 2 Spyros are the Same Spyros or that they're father and son, because that's way too far fetched!

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

Sorry, Ratchet, but I just can't agree. Firstly, I don't think LoS was a waste of time to begin with. It's a good world set up for a lot of stories that would take place within that system. Trying to connect it to the originals only cheapens both versions.

As for the dragons building the portals... I don't think so. Does anyone else realize that most of those portals aren't just to places on the dragons' planet, but to different universes? LoS had one portal, the Well of Souls, and all that connected to was the land of the dead (and one could argue that the entrance to Convexity was also a portal to a universe just slightly out of phase with the one Spyro lives in, but Convexity was destroyed in ANB). The LoS dragons could make one or two, I"m sure, but their portals mostly lead to places they create (Convexity) or that already exist in close proximity to their world (spirit realm).

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

A good point. I think that the LOS series presents many more ideas to branch from compared to the older series. Just my personal oppinion..but the story was much deeper and involved the characters....I have nothing against the old series except that their practically was no story....connecting the two would just really seem pointless....especially to save something that was "a waste of time" when we practically have more fans then ever before thanks to the LOS series.

Re: Solving Unanswered Spyro Questions and Connecting TLOS to the Originals

But what's the point of Spyro game if it had nothing to do with Spyro in the first place! Connecting the old Series to the new might seem shabby but i recon if they do ot right, it could work, and it would bring much relief to the original fans (to show that the series was not forgotton)
As for the portals. I'm sure the really smart dragons could build them. Think about it, the TLOS dragons were sort of a few steps behind us, maybe at most, 1500 hundred years behind us in terms of technology. if The originals took place 30, 000 years later, there's a great possibility that they had researched many new technologies since then. The professor in Avalar, for one, was proof that you could create portals! Creating the Portal in Glimmer and Dragon shores just to name a few. I'm 100% sure there's some sciency dragons that could thrash the professor in an IQ test.
And the originals did have story, so anyone who said they didn't have story and therefore no real need to connect, shut your gob!

especially to save something that was "a waste of time" when we practically have more fans then ever before thanks to the LOS series.

The originals sold much more copies than TLOS for your information! lol XD

Oh and so everyone knows, THIS IS NOT A TOPIC STATING THAT THE ORIGINALS SHOULD GO BACK OR WHATEVER, IT IS SIMPLY CONNECTING THE SERIES!
