YouTube - Do you have your own vids?

Å½ Â· I'm sure everyone here has heard about Youtube, but has anyone actually registered there and put their own vids there?

I'm just starting out to make my own vids because I found what I wanted to vid about. I usually video about gameplay and stuff, currently working out gameplay videos of Defense of the Ancients.

The only one I have right now is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UidIgf8gvx8 .

I have got 7...sound files on YouTube. They're tracks from 2 albums that I like. 10'000 views for them all in total, and 2 subscribers, one of whom is a director.

You don't have to pay. I got an account, but I can't find a way to get a video of me playing DDR. xP

Have you looked at the site's recommended guidelines? You might have overdone some of the aspects in framerate (30fps limit?), duration (10 minutes max) and size (100MB at a time). Or it could relate to the file format you saved your video in - usually they want MPEG videos if that's the case.

I'm on there without subs at the moment, but I'm working on one - should be done by today or tomorrow. I've just written the music to go alongside it (OMG NO COMMERCIAL ALBUMS??!) and now I just need to work on the video transitions.

Ah, thanks for the clarification X_x
You could do what RedDevilDazzy does and record everything with a video camera or webcam to transfer video recordings to your harddrive. I see it as a pretty standard method when it comes to gameplay recording.

Ok...one more clarification...xD I just can't find a way to display the video: meaning...should I focus on the screen, my feet, or both? I can get my sister to shoot the video.

Cyril: What I just stated are the recommended requirements for getting good quality videos on youtube. It's just basically a way of making your video nice and spiffy. wink

DDR Maniac: DDR is a less traditional videogame than most; that said, the best idea is to look around the web and see how other people record themselves playing the game. If I had a dance mat I'd answer that question a little better >.>

I occasionally view YouTube to see funny videos. Most stuff on it is garbage, however. I like some of the Spyro videos there.

It's a medley of some songs that Stewart Copeland composed for the Spyro series, arranged for a modern orchestra setup by myself. The entire thing was processed in Sony Vegas if you want to know - free access to music lab software for the win.
