Do you really need to bring this to a forum? I mean, sure, there are "labels" that people give others. But this is the internet.

Well, I have been called an insulting word by someone once due to my skin color, but besides that, I've never had one of those labels attached to me.

[sub]I don't think I've ever been labeled under any of those. No one really pays enough attention to me to bother with that kind of thing. x3[/sub]

Same here. I get called a geek when I know an answer to something noone else does. But that never tends to be serious.

I've been called weird and crazy, but I don't mind. I know I'm weird and crazy. ^_^ It's usually a family member or a friend who calls me that, and they mean it in a good way.
However, my best friend and I were once called lesbians. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. I'm not attracted to females. Heck, I'm not even interested in guys yet!

Re: EMO, CHAVE, DORK, PUNK .........ect.
The only thing I've been called that I took serious offence to was being called a chink. The person said it in a jokingly way, but that doesn't cover up how offensive it is.

I'm not really called any names. If I've been called anything it's just been shy. I am kind of quiet at school, and like to keep to myself.

Re: EMO, CHAVE, DORK, PUNK .........ect.
Nerd, geek, "gay woman", rocker, (this one baffled me for a while. I'm more of a classical/instrumental person) latina, I've been labeled a lot of things, but all of them were jokingly. I can't think of a single one that was supposed to be insulting, except for when an elementary school bus drove by me and a friend, who were walking home, and then some of the kids yelled "ROCKERS!!!" at us. I guess just because we were wearing black that day? I don't know if that's supposed to be an insult or not, but it made us giggle.
I think the only term that really annoyed me was when I was in high school. Some of the students, being in Miami and all, got this incredibly annoying habit of calling the Cubans "refs." So I got called one too from time to time. "Ref" was short for refugee. They also called the blacks in our school "slaves." While I don't doubt their name-calling was supposed to be light-hearted or whatever, it wasn't funny or witty to me, and I don't see the humor in sharing that joke with people you don't know.

What?
I think I should have the right to wear what I WANT to wear and what I LIKE to wear without being called a stupid insulting name!

Re: EMO, CHAVE, DORK, PUNK .........ect.
Exactly. One of my friends used to have incredible black hair that went great with his facial features. Then one day, he said he was contemplating on shaving it off because it was becoming too "emo mainstream." I told him "no, don't be stupid." But he shaved it off anyway. D:< Trends ruin everything.

If you wear what you "want" and dozens and dozens and dozens of other people just happen to "want" to wear the exact same style, it forms what's called a clique, and cliques and the identification thereof are essential to society, actually. But don't get upset if people label you when you look like an entire group of people whose idea of individuality all happen to be the exact same. It's just convenient.
