"L-u-s-t" filtered?

Why is the word "l-u-s-t" filtered? It can mean a desire for something. Sure, it can be used to mean a desire for sex, but it is rarely used for such.

Also, "s-n-a-t-c-h" is also blocked because of possible sexual meanings when it is also rarely used for such. Blocking everyday words because of the unlikely event where they're used sexually isn't helpful-it's an annoyance.

Re: "L-u-s-t" filtered?

Someone should compile a list of words to be requested as unfiltered. This is getting really stupid.

1. l-u-s-t
2. s-n-a-t-c-h
3. _______

An excellent idea, it is getting annoying......

Re: "L-u-s-t" filtered?

[sub]From what I understand, Spyrorocks found a list of commonly filtered words somewhere and just added it into the filter. Some words might have gotten in there unnecessarily by mistake.

So far most of the complaints you guys have had about the filter have been fixed. Aicebo, if I remember correctly, you have access to the word filter... unless he's changed that since I was demoted. [/sub]

Re: "L-u-s-t" filtered?

[sub]I think you probably should, but I'll leave you to make that decision. You're the moderator here, not me. =3

I mean, I think blocking "lus t", "far t",  and "snat ch" is going a bit too far.  [/sub]

I've deleted those three words for the moment.

A question about the filter-does it work retroactively?

[sub]Hmm. I'm not sure. Do you remember the post where you tried to write "lust"? Check back there.[/sub]

Re: "L-u-s-t" filtered?

If possible, from anyone that might know, may I see the list of commonly filtered words that Spyrorocks implemented (PM or email)? Then I can make some quick suggestions as to what words should/should not be filtered, and then you guys can make approvals. It can go much faster this way.

Re: "L-u-s-t" filtered?

It was me that tried to write lust the first time, in an RPG. I was trying to say: "In his lust for power".
