Re: Count me out

Well who knows it might be good. But I have a bad feeling about the movie, knowing that there is a strong chance it won't be good. sad

When it comes out, I will see the ratings. If it was a decent movie. I'm watching it. If not, I'll wait til it comes out on dvd :'( ( I'm not going to waste my money on a crappy movie)

Re: Count me out

I'm pretty optimistic (Eragon was only bad because it twisted the book so much). I've yet to see a preview or anything, so I'm gonna wait.
The T.L.o.S storyline is great so far anyway.

Re: Count me out

There's always that possibilty, yeah. But I'm too negative already though...I've been trying to change the way I think, so I've gotta stay positive >_>.
To JasonLovesKelsey: None taken wink. I loved the book, but then, I'm a sucker for fantasy novels. There's cliches in T.L.o.S, true but these days there's pretty much nothing that doesn't have a cliche or two. And they aren't necessarily bad, after all. There's those who say the idea of Ignitus being Spyro's dad is impossible for simply being cliche, and the same goes for SxC. It doesn't seem to affect fans of either at all.

Re: Count me out

I think that the movie wont be that good but it will be ok. I probaly wont be able to see it at the movies so if im going to see it ill probaly have to rent it when it comes out on dvd. I havent read or seen Eragon so i dont know what that movie was like but ive heard it was pretty bad. Anyway, im hoping that the makers of this movie will learn from there mistakes from Eragon and not twist the Spyro storyline too much.

Re: Count me out

I actually think this movie will be WAY too serious and go into too much detail. Those storylines bore be quickly.

Re: Count me out

My problem with this movie is that cutscenes are practically movie like in their own right. Considering the credits here aren't that impressive, it may end up being as original as stringing together the cutscenes and adding battles in between them where you would be playing, combined with trying to appeal to the younger crowd as much as possible. I'm not really expecting much from this film.

Just know that whatever happens to us...It wasn't my fault.

Re: Count me out

I think the movie might be good. Eragon was a good movie in my opinion, but I saw it before I read the book (after I read the book I still liked the movie).

This time it seems like they aren't going to twist it so much, perhaps they learned their lesson?

Anyway, the good news is that the guy who wrote Eragon is going to resell the movie rights to someone else (a new Eragon movie is coming?)

SO I guess we will just need to wait and see if the movie is good or not, if it is? Then we just wait for the next one... If it isn't? We will just flame the entire Sierra, Activision, and Velvet Octopus forums...

Re: Count me out

I thought the Eragon movie was ok, but I haven't bothered reading the book yet. Based on what others are saying, I probably wouldn't be as happy with it if I read the book.
One thing I'm worried about: If the Eragon producers were that far off with the book, then I wonder how far off they'll be with the games ...

Re: Count me out

I don't know, guys. A lot of the crew working on this film worked on those Garfield movies, and they couldn't even stay true to something as simple as the Garfield "story" and characters. Note that, although those movies were awful, they were released under the word of Jim Davis, and he's actually a genius in the comic world, in a different sense. No matter how we may think that his comic is unfunny, he knew how to turn something so average into a huge money-maker, even before the movies. I reckon they're trying to repeat this method again with Spyro.

Re: Count me out

Yeah, John Davis worked on the two theatrical Garfield movies, and along with others in charge of the Spyro movie, also worked on Garfield Gets Real and Garfield's Fun Fest, which were all made as money-makers. (You can catch the cheapness of it on Cartoon Network sometimes.) I'm sure even Jim Davis himself can't deny it, he's the comic marketing genius after all. Some of these people also worked on "The Reef," an obvious attempt to cash in on the famosity of Finding Nemo.

So yes, this is no doubt the same case.
