Elora or Ember?

Alright, so we all know that the new Spyro's going to have a relationship with Cynder ( big_smile )... so what about the old Spyro? Who do you think he would of had a relationship with?

I voted for Elora. They're both magical creatures, so it could work, and I just simply like the pairing!

I despise SpyroxEmber. I don't like Ember, I don't think it's cute, Spyro was never interested in her, and Ember fell for an armadillo in Shadow Legacy.

I just don't really like any of the pairings, new or old.

I don't think Spyro should need a mate, anyway.

Well... I'm afraid all I can do is give my two cents, because I can't vote here. Why? Because none of the options work for me.

I don't like Ember, so she gets cut(plus she ended up with an armadillo). *Maybe* if she was less annoying I'd consider her, though.

As for Elora, if she was a dragon, she'd be ideal for old Spyro! However, she's not a dragon... and somehow, I find faun + dragon really... odd o.O. (Razz is gonna smack me XD) If she was a dragon, it'd be Elora all the way! But with her being a faun... hmm .

And I can't say neither, because I honestly like Elora and think she'd be fitting, but... like I said before hmm .

I already know Pyrus big_smile . He's adorable. I dunno, I just still find Dragon/Faun to be a bit too odd to me, but heck, since arguably a lot of the things in the old series were odd, I'll vote Elora.

Elora all the way! Ember irritated me, with her purpose of being only a cameo, and her character design that was almost identical to Spyro's except PINK because HEY, ALL GIRLS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PINK, RIGHT!? Grrr...*cough* Sorry, I do that sometimes. Anyway, irritations with Ember aside, I just don't think Spyro had that great an interest in her. She struck me as 'Irritating Fangirl' stereotype, which I don't think Spyro would be attracted to, and anyway she dumped him later on for Bandit.

Elora, on the other hand, was a fairly likable character for me. She seemed to serve an actual purpose in Ripto's Rage, even if it wasn't one that DIDN'T EARN HER ANY ROLES IN ANY FUTURE GAMES except as a cameo in Year of the Dragon, and sorry about the AllCaps again. She's got a nice personality, too- firm, intuitive, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Nice, but not irritatingly so.

All that being said, I think she has a better chance of having a successful relationship with Spyro than Ember does. Elora likes Spyro, and I don't doubt the feeling is mutual, but I think Spyro's the kind of guy who will run away screaming at the mention of the word 'commitment' whenever the topic of romance is near. I think Elora would be gentle because of that, and give him his space when he needed it, whereas Ember would probably just try to latch onto him and not let go, causing him to suffocate and leave the Dragon Worlds one hero short, and wow I really like run-on sentences, don't I? My bad- won't happen again.

As for the question of species- I can understand how this would turn some people off of the pairing, but I don't really have a problem with it. When it comes to a cartoony, fantasy-ish series like Spyro, my stance is that a couple is all right so long as both characters have equal levels of sentience (or would it be sapience? I heard somewhere that 'sapient' would be more appropriate for a situation like this than 'sentient,' but I can't back that up. If anyone knows, would you inform me?). There are several other couples in the Spyro franchise that aren't of the same species, after all- EmberBandit, HunterBianca, and Sgt. ByrdIsabelle, to name a few.

And that's my two cents, though it looks more like ten. ^^

Well, actually it was "Come on Spyro! Take a break. Let's watch the show." ..but I guess it doesn't really matter, seeing as it still revolves around the whole idea of SpyroxElora... kinda...

I think Elora likes him, but Spyro either a) chooses to ignore it or b) doesn't realize it. Most likely B. I also think he was just jealous at the end of YOTD.

Am I making sense? I went to bed at 1 a.m. last night and I'm just now having a bowl of cereal. *omnomnom*

I prefer HunterxElora to SpyroxElora, but from what I've heard of her, Ember is annoying (But It is best not to judge a book by it's cover), therefore I choose neither smile

Hunter/Elora?! She always seemed to motherly toward Hunter to be romantically involved with him and Hunter seemed to think of her as nothing more than a close friend. And, of course, there's that whole thing with Bianca... big_smile

Considering both Elora and Cynder live in different universes i don't think it's that much of a big deal which would be better with which universe!Spyro. Elora and Ember whould be were the debate began i'd reckon. Though the games after Insomniac confuse me, they are part of the original timeline, yes? I am a sucker for originals so my main pair will always be Elora x Spyro though. Elora does start flirting about half way through the game. Or maybe i just read into things too hopefully *shrug* And i think people seem to forget love doesn't equal sex and vice versa, so being of a different species in a game shouldn't have to be such a big deal.

As for Cynder... i've not worked up my patience yet, to face endless fighting to actually buy the Legend of tilogy so the only thing i have to go on is the cut-scenes. I still don't understand how she can be from the same brood as Spyro yet not be his sister? Does she have different parents and was dumped in with him? Maybe i missed out on an explanation. Either way, the way they both have to pull-through their emotions together is really adorable X3

LoS seems to be following the original trilogy's take on dragon eggs: it does not take two dragons to make baby dragons and eggs just sort of show up by various magical means. big_smile

I don't count EtD and AHT as part of the original timeline. EtD tried to be, but it's so horrible and so out of character (in so many respects) that it just doesn't fit. AHT is very clearly in a different universe, though it, too, tried to be a part of the old games.

I'd hope they'd just pop up considering all the dragons in StD were male XD Unles they know something we don't... o: Magic is such plothole cement, haha. Gotta love it.

I sorta try ignore all the games after Insomniac and before LoS. They're just too confusing XD At least they set up Ember with Bandit though. A nice happy ending for everyone involved big_smile

Having played the games between LoS and Insomniac, I almost don't count them as games. EtD is not a game so much as it is a kind of torture. AHT just sucks (except for Teena and the Ice Princess and sort of Red). It would have been a much better game if they'd just left all the Spyro characters out of it.

Love the shipping fandom. It's so rabid. Thank god i don't venture into it very often, at least not in the Spyro fandom anyway. Spyro x Elora is a special case though big_smile

EtD is just a cesspool. It may have been a good game had the developers been alowed to actually finish it not just roll it out as a holiday cash cow. I never finished AHT 'cause it annoyed me too much but who was Teena? I don't remember her D: Although that's probaly not a bad thing!

Teena doesn't show up until close to the end of the game. She's one of the...two bright spots in the whole thing. big_smile I really hated AHT (though, now that I've played EtD, I can't help but think of it in a kinder light XD). Teena was an NPC you run into and she asks you to defeat the rock monsters who've destroyed her home. She's a hyena and laughs about everything, including her own desperate poverty and impending starvation. I couldn't not love her after that. XD She's also really adorable.

I avoid shipping for the most part, unless it's really obvious (Spyro/Cynder) and canon (Elora/Spyro is very close to it; Oliver Wade confirmed for me that she was created to be Spyro's love interest, though they stepped that back a little because of the different species thing). But sometimes, it's fun to pair up characters just for laughs. Teena/Ice Princess is the best AHT pairing ever. XD

Actually, i think i do remember her now! She had a "tribal" thing going on and lived in/near a volcano? Man, maybe i got further in the game than i thought.

I'd say Elora x Spyro is flat out canon, not just very close to it. She's totally got the hots for him and if trying to kiss him TWICE isn't evidence enough then i don't know what is. Can't get more obvious than that! But yeah, it's a game aimed at younger kids so maybe the interspecies thing would seem a little odd to them.

Teena x Ice Princess. Lol crack XD

Oh, yeah, Elora/Spyro is canon. I'm pretty sure that, after pairing a cheetah up with a bunny, Insomniac stopped feeling so awkward about a faun and a dragon. big_smile Elora was totally giving him a second (third, if you've seen the RR epilogue) chance at the end of YotD and he didn't say "no"... ^_^
