Why does everybody hate rap music I mean what the heck I don't get it.

I hate it.
It's often about words I cannot say on here.
I don't think it's really helped anyone, not like my music has helped me...

Uh I dunno what you're talking about but music isn't really supposed to help people unless you consider "entertaining people" helping which dude it's done for me like a zillion times.

A few certain bands always made me feel better when I went through my little depression. It reminded me of who I was and that one day everything that was making me so upset would end one day.

Music has saved my life.

I think that rap is pointless, because some has inspired people to go be in "gangs" and "hoods". To hurt people. To r*pe.

Rap itself isn't too bad. I have found a few songs that I do like

But the current trend it's gone into, meaning, well the average rap video is a song full of expletives and half dressed women dancing in the background or all over a guy, which I cannot stand. It's because of things like that, that make men think that they can treat women with disrespect, as if we're just a piece of meat.

Glad my bf doesn't listen to rap. ^^

I can't stand rap and it has the same reasons as CynderRules stated and Aicebo said. Although..I have a liking for the song "Get Low" by Lil Jon from Need for Speed: Underground 1. And another reason is that rap annoys me...the same rythem over and over and over!

The only justified complaint really is the objectification of women, even though I know a lot of people who say they hate rap for that reason, but like pleanty of non-rap songs that also objectify women or even men sometimes which is always weird.

^ well I'm certainly not like those hypocrites. I like a lot of trance and techno, mostly because they're isn't any words in it to offend me! XD

I think that women should take a stand against rap. They're always complaining how guys treat them like dirt, and more times than not (at least in the scenarios I've seen at my school) they wear short skirts and tight shirts, and tons of perfume and they're always listening to rap or other disrespecting songs on their cell phones or iPods, and usually really flirtatious. If a woman wants to be treated with respect, then she needs to present herself in a way that says so.

yeah you could say..but I actually was a big fan of rap..but its gone downhill now..I listen to old school rap though..but I know like Get Silly..and some others.But now I'm a rocker forever!

I don't hate rap. I've come to enjoy it a bit after living around the ATL for so long. Only a fan of certain artists though.
And rap is music. Yeah, it's pretty much just talking, but it's placed in rhythm with added sounds in the back. And rhythm is a part of music. wink

The only rap i like is Eminems songs. They are the only good ones. No words in rap ever offend me. i seriously dont know how people could even get offended by rap anyway.

to me rap is just not a good type of music i mean it mainly talks about drugs and other stuff which i'm not getting into i mean you have people in school listening to that and it messes with them badly i might add i mean you call rap crud or anything like that others get mad at you for it i just plane out don't like it no real point to it

To me rap USED to be good...till tons of bad people went in(Some from MySpace)Now i think less of it..I loved it bit...til I heard form my tacher and he taugt me the best I could..he's m fav. teacher and more of a father e...he undersans this wl as much as me and more!

Like I said, Rap itself as a music GENRE isn't bad, I've found a few songs that I like, and some guys at school who rap, rap about good stuff. Like how our school won a game or how a kid on the soccer team who broke his leg made a full recovery.

The current TREND of rap is what's bad and immoral.
