Which character does "This Broken Soul" refer to???

Okay with the theme for the end of TEN being "This Broken Soul", who do you think it refers to?

Firstly I thought it was Cynder, because of her time during ANB where she was captured by the Dark Master, turned into an adult version of herself, almost freeing the Dark Master in Convexity.

But having thought about it a bit more, I thought it could have been Spyro, after his epic journey to get to the Well Of Souls, having defeated quite a number of characters along the way, such as Skabb, Arborick etc... and then having to put up yet another massive fight to get rid of Gaul. That and the fact he got trapped in the Soul Beam - only to have Cynder crash tackle him out of it. And at the end when he suspends them in that "gem" or whatever it is.

So who do you think it refers to??

True that - Spyro having so much to deal with as well as Cynder, after all they've been through.

Since it's sung by a female - I'd say it's leaning more towards Cynder .. but then again I could be wrong

Yeah, this song was made towards Cynder, even if Spyro has had hard times, Cynder has it way worse off, she feels lost, and needs guidence.... she needs to FIND A HOME! i say that home is probably with Spyro......

Okay ratchet you'd think they would come up with a song that has nothing to do with the game nor the characters within it.

I read it as 'the love flow thriough this broken soul" Water will not heal a soul, but love can..Thje song is about Cynder, and hoe Spyro can help her find her home, and his love will heal her soul..

Read the lines of this: "Pull me to shore" and "Rivers are rising." Spyro is being compared to a river to guide her to safety, thus: "let the water flow right through this broken soul"

Okay settled then?? It's Cynder the song refers to ... weird how the game is about Spyro himself and the end credits theme refers to his potential partner ... ohh well

I rather liked that the song implies a bit of duality with Cynder. The lyric "come ancient spirit" implies that she's calling for the Dark Master to save her, but much of the song also implies that she's seeking Spyro's forgiveness and help. Poor girl. She must be so confused.

I don't think it's the Dark Master she's calling on ... Remember back in ANB how Spyro asks about the gems and Ignitus tells him who they're from ...THAT IS .. I think tongue

Huh. I'd never thought of it that way. Also, I like the idea that she's confused. I mean, when you consider the way she was raised, what we know to be evil was goodness to her, so it's not out of the question that she might miss the old familiar things.

I thought that, too, initially, but if you listen to the lyrics, they really don't fit Spyro. His place in the world is pretty firmly set. It also doesn't help that it's sung by a woman. big_smile
