Re: David Spade/Billy West

Hmm I know the show and its characters, but I still can't put on voice on that guy. In any case, it can't be any worse than David Spade. A funny guy, but I didn't like him as the voice of Sparx.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

I agree with you. The voice was too deep for a small fella like him you know. I don't think Elijah Wood fits Spyro too well either... :s

Re: David Spade/Billy West

I miss the old days when Carlos Alazraqui and Tom Kenny did Spyro's voice. Carlos had that spunky kind of voice that gave Spyro his adventuresome personality in the first game. Tom had a cool tone in his voice that gave Spyro his witty attitude in Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon.

Having either one of those guys come back to do Spyro's voice would be a great joy to me.

I also miss that kazoo-like voice that Sparx had. It just made it all the more funnier when he insults Spyro. big_smile

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Woodv isn't horrible as Spyro, although I do agree on Spade.. he seemed.. hoew to put this? out of place in ANb... he had a few funny lines, and some revealing hints about the future, but he didn't mesh with the role , imo. billy West really shouldn't have problem outdoing Spade in his performance as Sparx. I hope Cree Summer is back as Cynder, Her voice suits Cynder very nicely...

Re: David Spade/Billy West

It 's the same character, just smaller, I'm guessing she'll use her "kid voice" for Young Cynder. Cree's played Kids before. remember Numbah 5 from Kids Nezt Door? She'll be fine playing the young Cynder

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Whoever voiced 'little' Cynder in ANB should do fine.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

I'm sure that Cree would reprise her role. I mean I can see a similar grit in her voice as young Cynder when comparing it to her prior roles. I remember her more fondly for voicing Penny in Inspector Gadget, and seeing her redo that role for a Robot Chicken short very well I'm sure she has what it takes to voice aforementioned black dragon again.

I'm familiar with some stuff that Billy West did, and much like Gary Oldman he can be seen as a bit of a "chameleon" with his work. Compare Murfy from Rayman 3, Nash from Crash Nitro Kart, Bugs Bunny and his Futurama roles, and you'll see what I mean. Odds are he might even adapt to a voice tone that can be similar to Spade's, albeit with a bit more enthusiasm.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Robot Chicken is hilarious.. but Yeah, I'm sure Cree Summer wil play Cynder in this game and in the third game, although I'm not sure about any games beyond the trilogy. If I had to guess, then yes, she'll be a permanent part of the Spyro canon. As For WEst, He was funny as fry and I expect him to be funny in this as well..

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Yeah! Cree Summer suits Cynder's voice really well, both adult Cynder and young Cynder. Gary Oldman  suits Ignitis's voice really well too as a wise old dragon. Now for Sparx: I wish they went back to the Sparx like in ETD, where Sparx just makes buzzing sounds when he's talking with the subtitles and captions showing he's talking and what he is saying. For Spyro, I liked Tom Kenny who voiced him in ripto's rage, year of the dragon, and enter the dragonfly. But it can't hurt to try other voice talents until we get a winning match.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

I like futurama. and Billy West played the voice of the Murphy character in the Rayman Games.  Honestly I didn't care that David Spade was doing Sparx voice. And I bet the biggest reason he isn't doing it again is because he doesn't want to.  Although I still hope Elijah Wood is still voicing Spyro.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Eh, I didn't really like Elijah Wood's voice as Spyro. Seemed boring to me. I would definetly prefer voices such as Tom Kenny's, who was great.
Cree Summer was a perfect fit for Cynder. I'm curious Billy West, though I'm sure he'll do fine.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

Since Billy West is playing sparx, I just hope that he can make it kid friendly because Robot Chicken is a Mature-rated cartoon, which means it has adult-oriented material in it. So, I just hope that West's humor isn't too crude for this game.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

I didn't say he wrote the script. I meant that as he speaks as sparx, his humor doesn't get too out of control.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

West only says what the producers tell him to. It is not really his humor, its the producers who wrote the script that he has to recite in the recording studio when they record his voice for the game.

The voice actors don't say what ever they want, they say what they are told to say.

Re: David Spade/Billy West

They will keep the content at about the level of ANB, there may be some adult quips in there, but nothing to explicit..
