Livestreaming?
Has anyone done a livestream before? I'm thinking about starting a Twitch channel, but I have no idea what kind of equipment I need or anything about it really. If you've done it before, how was it?

Re: Livestreaming?
I would like to do a livestream myself, but I don't have the right equipment either.
I have changed my username from Justin Long Fanatic to EricChristianOlsenFanatic, so Justin Long Fanatic is my old name on this site, and EricChristianOlsenFanatic is my new one.

Re: Livestreaming?
Lol it definitely didn't cost $3000. I would never pay that much for a computer. That's closer to the value of my car.
The game I would want to stream is just Stepmania... so nothing hardware-intensive at all. And I do have a Windows laptop that everyone always forgets about for some reason.
I'll look into OBS. Thanks!

Re: Livestreaming?
Yea, you don't need all high-tech stuff to do live streaming (at least I don't think). OBS is perfect for it, I guess, along with a mic
My brother tried to use YouTube's livestreaming and it turned out a bit cr*p anyway.

Re: Livestreaming?
I can also vouch for OBS, it's really lightweight and a handy program for recording as well as live streaming. Really easy to set up and shut down with just a mic, a Twitch account, a good computer and Internet connection.
(source: I did a brief Crash Twinsanity hackstream once with minimal effort.......and minimal viewers......but hey at least it's easy to set up =P)

Re: Livestreaming?
No, you're still overestimating by quite a lot, actually. I like my computer and use it every day, so think it was worth what we paid for it. Why do you care, anyway?

Re: Livestreaming?
Looking forward to seeing your Stepmania skillz. I always thought it would be fun to stream...maybe next time we get together we could try to finish DotD on stream so everyone on the forum can laugh at us
I'm on Twitch, like 90% of the time I'm on my computer, so I'll probably stop by and say hi at some point.

Re: Livestreaming?
We should do that! Everyone needs to see how much we suck at DotD. XD I'll need to figure out how to get it to stream from the PS2, though.
I'm gonna be streaming Necrodancer for a little bit in a minute, then maybe some Stepmania.
