That is not the total game size, that is so:
1.) Game has space for future patching
2.) Game has space to dump/download temp files or crash reports.

My GMod folder is currently about 25.5 GB in size ... and I tend to remove mods I don't care much about. Aye. Now download all the mods. 8(

I have mine at 56.8gb and the reason for that is because I moved all resources from all other valve games into my gmod and then my maps folder built up plus some other reasons.
