i think it has something to do with the polygons or something. i dont get the whole polygon thing, especially how they act in the older spyro games

This is possibly a problem with running on an emulator if you or the source of this was using one. When running a PSX emulator at a higher resolution than the default, which most do, to stretch it to fit their screen, it'll mess with the polygons, and often they kind of... move around weirdly, and have weird perspective sometimes. That might've been what caused this.

I didn't play at much more than the original resolution.
Possibly, it has something to do with the skeletal animation not being entirely accurate in all situations. I've seen lesser degrees of head shrinking when falling off the skateboard, for example.
