Idk if it is due to my browser or what, but when I go to the login screen, fill my username and then switch to password and start typing, it often jumps back to the username column and types it there (it seems to happen when the page finishes loading). It didn't happen to me on other sites.

Maybe it's a browser extension doing it? I dunno, maybe just try waiting until the page completely loads to fill in the password.
