Any J.R.R.Tolkien fans here
I am reading "The Silmarillion"
I have read
- The Lord of the Rings
- The Hobbit
What i enjoy about this book is, it explains subtle events to how it will lead to the hobbit and lord of the rings, gifted skilled writing skills!
I like that you can get into it if you try hard enough, i needed to read twice to figure out what it ment, so i had to pay extra attention to figure out what roles each of them had to understand the main story, clever 
I also like the movies too by Peter Jackson

I'm currently reading The Hobbit for the fourth or fifth time, but it's my first time reading it in English. Before now, it was always in Norwegian. Might read TLotR again if I stay in my Middle Earth mood

They really are good books. I just finished rereading the LotR trilogy, and understood it and liked it a lot more than I did when I was younger. I think I had trouble with it back then because I didn't have the patience I do now and didn't appreciate the themes as much. Sam is one of the most inspirational characters in any book I've ever read.
Sometimes I secretly wish the Shire were real, it sounds like such a nice and homely place to live!

Yeah, me too It's mostly the world itself, more than the plot and characters(though how I picture it world heavily relies on those), that makes me enjoy the books.

Yeah it has this attitude to put the reader into it if one really tries. In some way. Its like if someone figures out how to use a hammer, its so awesome when one figures out how to use it! Glad you liked the books.

I saw all of the LotR movies before I read the Fellowship of the Ring, but I did read The Hobbit before I saw the movie. Desolation of Smaug changed a lot from the book. The Fellowship is the only LotR book I've read, though. I have been planning to reread the Hobbit, then the Fellowship, and then read the books that I didn't for a while, now.
I'm not sorry if I offended you.

When I was in fifth grade and the first movie came out, everyone I hung out with at school got kind of obsessed with the series, so I figured I should read it too. Read the whole thing and The Hobbit, and my dad even let me see the movie as long as I promised I would act mature enough or something.
I haven't read the books since then, but I bet I would get a lot more out of them now if I did.

Saw the films first, dad took us to the cinema each ti e :-p
And my Grandma lent me the books, I'm on the 3rd one, then I'll read the hobbit once I finish that.

The Silmarillion = Done.
A good read for people with interest in mythology and fantasy, nice charm to it.
