this place feels more like a desert

this forum is about a game franchise that has left the idea a long time ago...
i see a maximum of 5 people online everyday...

this forum is like a hotel in the middle of an abandoned western town...

once the busiest place from far, now nothing more but some ghosts hoping for a future
(while talking about my little pony and things that once were hoped for)

i think if you gave a shoutout to /b/ we'd instead get flamed.

Re: this place feels more like a desert

this forum is insanely active compared to another forum i use. i don't even think of it as inactive.

also the lack of busyness gives it a comfortable vibe, like Giganoto implied.

Re: this place feels more like a desert

It's already way more active than it was only a month ago. I mean, this thread got four replies before I even got a chance to look at it. That would've been unheard of a while ago. tongue Considering forums are a dying medium in the time of social media, I'd say we're doing quite well.

I always say that if you don't like the level of activity on a forum, you should do something about it. Not enough good threads? Make some more. Not enough discussion about a certain topic? Get something started. Activity leads to more members which leads to more activity.

Yes, we should be talking about guacomole, the lack of guacomole is the reason anything is ever stale *twitch*

Yeah, I really like the level of activity here. I feel like I'm good friends with everyone here. Also this is way more active than it was like 3 years ago.

That's a little harsh, but there's some truth to it. Complaining's not going to get you anywhere.

Another thing you can do if you want this forum to be more active is to invite your friends. Or even people who aren't your friends. I bet there are lots of fans out there who don't know this place exists.

Forget being inactive.

Anyone want to do another Counter Strike night again?

Re: this place feels more like a desert

Yeah, I've been saying we need to do a game night again sometime. And apparently it's Mac compatible, so I can try out this thing's gaming capabilities.

Re: this place feels more like a desert

I've kind of been wondering what would happen if we enabled guest posting.... Maybe it would help if people could try out the forum before making an account. But then we might get craptons of spam. I dunno.

Exactly. We may get all too many "Is spyro and cynder Get merry" type posts. We could try it out for a little bit to see if we get too much spam. If it works fine and we only get spam in the Spam forum, then I think that would be good for the forum. The guest might enjoy posting and make an account.

Maybe only a section that allows for guest posting, but that would require quite a bit of moderation.

Re: this place feels more like a desert

It's mostly the bots I'd be worried about. The registration process keeps us from ever seeing most of the bots, but tons of them are attempting to register every day. If they found out that we allow guest posting I'm sure those cheap advertisers would go crazy with it. I could just not allow guests to post links, I guess.

Just considering it, I have no idea if it would be a good idea or not.

Re: this place feels more like a desert

Guest posting is now enabled in Spyro Chat and Site Help/User Feedback.

Members, do not abuse this. I will know it is you. If you have an account, use it. Looking at you, Breaking Bad.

Edit: Decided to enable it in SPAM as well.
