Fallout 4/Fallout Series Thread
Ooh, I love Fallout. All of them, from when the games were isometric view rpgs to when they were first-person action rpgs. It's hard to pick a favorite of the series, since when Bethesda picked up the name, the genre almost completely changed. However, the overall plot and idea stayed the same, and Bethesda made sure this was done well. My favorite of the originals is Fallout Tactics (I've only played 1 and tactics, I've heard 2 is the best, but I've yet to try it,) and my favorite of the Bethesda titles is New Vegas (It's really close between the two, but I overall had more fun with NV. 3 had a much better story, however, and I feel closer to it, in a way, than NV.)
On the topic of Fallout 4, the game was (basically) confirmed a while ago when someone at Kotaku made an article claiming a reader sent them a script from a game in development codenamed "The Institute." Everything, including the famous "War never changes" quote matches with the Fallout series, even though it is never mentioned directly. It also is confirmed that it will take place in Boston, as the Institute is the universe's equivalent of MIT, and a mention from the dialogue of one of the characters the player interacts with mentions 'Quincy' and 'Lexington,' two places in Massachusetts. It's also possible that the player will actually speak, as in the script, it suggests that the player reads the intro instead of the usual narrator, Ron Perlman. This might also mean that the player will have vocal lines for the dialogue choices that they make.
The article is here: http://kotaku.com/leaked-documents-reve … 1481322956
What are your guys' thoughts on the series/Fallout 4?

New Vegas isn't Fallout 4 because it's sort of like a spin off to FO3 made by a different developer. Nuclear Winter would be really interesting. Would enjoy that.

I always went with Independent Vegas, because I like the Followers of the Apocalypse, and some of the inhabitants of Freeside. Every other option seems to opress them in some way. Plus, Yes Man is the best, and being (basically) the dictator of Vegas is awesome. I've never played any of the DLCs, however. I need to play those.

Re: Fallout 4/Fallout Series Thread
I did not know much about the series. But in Fallout New Vegas some people posted some videos trolling people in the game it was pretty funny. No disrespect actually seems like a cool series.

How would they do that? Unless they mean NPCs, or something. I wouldn't really consider that 'trolling,' though. The entire game is singleplayer.

I go independent and make good alliances with pretty much everybody. Khans are good people and I usually send them away from the Mojave to find new land and the White Glove Society is a bit misunderstood.
Also want to say. Veronica is best companion.

Re: Fallout 4/Fallout Series Thread
It's hard to pick what my favorite faction is, but it's probably between the Boomers and the Kings. The Boomers have a pretty heavy amount of back story that ends in a pretty awesome way after you help them, but the Kings have that whole Elvis thing, and you get Rex (the ACTUAL best follower) from them. Rex can be considered OP, if you know how to use him. When the King gives him to you, he says he needs a new brain. There's 3 possible brains in the entire game you can get. There's one outside of Freeside that you get from killing a Fiend's dog, but it's the least useful. It gives extra speed, which is barely helpful at all. There's another you get from Old Lady Gibson outside of Novac one of two ways; you kill her dog, or pay her to kill her dog and give you the brain. That dog's brain gives extra damage; useful, but not as much as the third one, but the third one is the hardest to get. You have to go to the Legion, assuming that you don't have a bad rep with them, (if you do, which you should, there's a guy who gives you some necklace or something in the Strip that puts your rep back to neutral with the Legion. I usually find him when I walk out of the Tops casino.) then you talk to some guy I forgot the name of (he's the dog trainer, and probably has a dog next to him.) After you talk with him, he says he'll give you his best dog's brain if you beat him in fair combat. After you beat him, he gives you the brain, which adds a bunch of health to Rex. This one is easily the most useful, because Rex goes down (or dies if you're on hardcore mode) a lot in combat, and the extra health should let him stay in combat longer. Also, always set him to stay far behind you so that he doesn't initiate combat when you don't want to, and so that he has some time to catch up to you when you initiate combat to charge the enemy and knock them down.

Oh darn your right what I meant was. They posted videos were they were acting like jerks to the characters in the game. It was something sorry for the misunderstanding and cool series all the same.

This is very important. I did this in F:NV today.
The house mod is "Underwater Home" and it's frickin' amazing. That Dinky positioning was all me, though.
You can get the mod here:

He's not immortal, but his health is so high he's basically immortal. Fawkes is definitely the best companion (besides Dogmeat,) but you need good karma to recruit him.

I don't watch this thread much but I just looked at it. Wow, you really got those things positioned well. I had a hard time (in New Vegas) putting a stuffed bear sitting on a chair ... and it's still crooked.
For those who play New Vegas, if you turn on no-clip through the console (tcl) and fly under the The Tops casino, there is a hidden terminal. I'll leave it up to you to check it out. ![]()

wAaaat? I thought I knew every easter egg in the game. I'll have to check this out.
Edit: You might've had trouble positioning it because the hitboxes for scenery aren't very good; I don't think they really thought people would want to decorate their house so much. You have to find flat surfaces like tables or those shelves I used. Chairs probably aren't that reliable.
Edit 2: I can't find the terminal ;_; I searched under the Tops in the interior, in the exterior, and even in the restaurant and courtyard, and I can't find it. Where is it?

There was also a glitch with Dogmeat where if you have Broken Steel installed he's basically impossible to kill.
