An Update on the Update
Hi everyone,
I'm very close to finishing the script that will convert this forum's database over to the new forum. Unfortunately, not all of the data on this forum will be migrating to the new forum. This means that some information you may want to keep will be lost. There will be at least a week before the move actually happens so you can prepare to save anything you need (and so I don't look too stupid when something inevitably comes up and I can't release it immediately).
After we have moved, you will need to manually reset the following information in your profile:
- Birthday
If you would like to view any of the following later, you will need to save them somewhere else:
- Private messages
- Guestbook entries
- Polls
- Your gem counts
- The old non-Spyro emoticons
There might be other things. If I think of them, or if any more come up, I'll let you all know.

Good idea.
In addition to the current default theme that's on there now I'm also working on one that looks pretty much just like this. So if you hate my new layout, you can just switch your theme and pretend like it never happened. 
It'll be at the same URL as now, so no need to move anywhere. You won't even have to reregister or change your password or anything.

You can do what my Battlefield Modding forum owner did. He made a backup
copy of the old forum and simply made the new forum. On the main page of
the new forum he made a direct link to the saved old forum. Look here:
Not every bit of their old account was saved, but it is enough to recognize
what their account used to look like. Something like this could be good for
nostalgia's sake.

Whether or not we keep this forum up as an archive is entirely up to Spyrorocks seeing as he's still going to be hosting the forum.
For saving guestbook entries and PMs I was thinking we'd just have to screenshot them or copy/paste the plain text. I guess I could also get you an SQL file, but the dump I have is from early December, so it wouldn't have entries any later than that.
Maybe one day I'll put guestbooks in, but for right now there's no mod for it, and it doesn't seem worth the effort to make one myself seeing as barely anyone uses them.
Also, it's actually looking like polls are going to be really easy to import, so don't worry about losing those (not that I think anyone was ).

That's going to be the next thing I do after it's released. I've already started on a darker theme, but it doesn't look anywhere near good enough to upload right now.
