Fanfiction

I know the Spyro fandom used to have a large fanfiction community. What are your thoughts on fanfiction? Read any good ones lately? Did you ever write any?

I used to want to write Spyro fanfiction, but it never got past one or two pages. tongue I'm sure if I looked back on them now I would cringe.

I've read a couple decent non-Spyro stories, but I don't actively look for them or anything.

I have read some creepy ones.

I kinda always hated Fan fiction, since I was on Dark Spyro.

I remember a 9 year old member crying because they read a Dawn of the Dragon fan fiction, in which Spyro killed the guardians. :-P they were going Crazy about it! xD

Then one time I even ended up getting a Fan story written about my account (It was so creepy!) by a member of the forums who I hated (see my youtube tongue )

fanfiction, in theory, is pretty cool. the fans putting their favorite characters into scenarios they create.

but the problem is, those scenarios sometimes suck. there are some that, well, even if you were a huge Spyrox(character) nut, you wouldn't have wanted to read them. whatever you're imagining right now, it's worse. and i mean, i read a Hey Arnold fanfic one time that had like drug use and stuff in it, i just can't get into that. and besides the content, some if it's just not well-written with awkward dialogue. i try to look past that since it's a pretty excusable fault, though, and focus on what's happening *in* the story. and like i said, there is some well-written and not disgusting stuff out there. i don't read much fanfiction these days, though.

I read a dreadful south park one about a weird gay love triangle between Kyle, Stan and Stan's girlfriend Wendy, it was so badly written and just...like a soap, last time i looked south park is a comedy, not Eastenders.

Also I just got reminded of Cynro and Synder xD or what ever it was, you know spyro and cynders kids xD

Oh yeah, how could we forget Cyndro and Spynder? XD I'm pretty sure that was like, everyone's OC name on deviantART back in the day. tongue

I find it hilarious how angry some people get over their fan pairings too. Back in '08 even suggesting that spyro and cynder isn't Get Merry would make everyone just explode in rage.

I'm pretty sure every fanfiction I've read has been at least mediocre. I occasionally have tried to find some good fan fiction, but it never ends well. I just end up making myself cringe, and then lose hope in whatever fandom that may be. But at least I can go to Spyro Forum and think that at least some of this fandom isn't terrible.

I have been writing a few lately, but I can only think of one that is good in recent memory that has been updated recently as well; Dark Legacy by Dardarax. No seriously, get past the title. And Stormy, you KNOW how hard it is to impress me.

But yeah, most of them are generic garbage that is usually sticking to the same formula and straying gets you nothing lol.

I once read a very graphic one concerning peter pan a grown up Wendy (yes...peter was still a child...) and tinker bell.

My friend once read one about Assassins creed, with a father and son. Knowing they were father and son. She had a right go at the owner and fans who agreed with the plot saying they were sick, demented, and needed help xD

Funnily enough when I was actually quite active in the spyro fandom and on this forum, I used to read them on a regular base. Now a days I really just don't bother with them much of all. I just rather spend my time doing other activities now.

I read this marvelous tony the tiger fanfiction recently *laughs into the distance* it featured one of them rice krispy dudes x tony. needless to say it was very...graphic
