there was a period for several years where i was unaware that Pokemon was even still going. i just sort of blocked it out there for a while after Misty left, and that other lady and the kid came along.

i didn't like them because they weren't Misty. not that i was overly obsessed with Misty to begin with, but it just seemed like a very unnecessary change to the snow.

i could take a guess at that, but i personally hardly even remember anything of Misty, or the show to begin with, really. i just don't like when they make unnecessary changes like that. she was there the whole time, why change it? it's like, well, you know, every company and/or development team that thinks changing things when they're already working will actually work at some point in time at any time ever.

this is going to sound stupid and unlike me, but all of the constant references to the Pokemon games and memes based on them greatly reduced my chances of finding enjoyment in them. instead of "playing a game" now, i can just imagine it being "oh, yeah, it's that thing." you can blame most of this on the fact that i never played them back before they were internet culture icons, though, so there you go.
