PC Games
I finally decided to get Steam a few weeks back, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any good PC games they'd like to recommend? (I'll post my specs down below; I can't play anything crazy like Crysis or something) I've finished Portal, playing Portal 2, and downloaded Half-Life 2 but haven't started it yet.
PC Specs (ihavenoideawhatthisstuffmeanslol)
Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: AMD Athlon (II) P340 Duel-Core
GPU: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
RAM: 3GB
Oh, and if you want to be friends on Steam, just shoot me a PM.
Also, how's it going guys? It's been a while.

Re: PC Games
Left 4 dead or left 4 dead 2 should run on that PC with low or mid settings im pretty sure. Its not really a resource hogging game.
Its good too.

On the PC id advise to get the sims 2. Its cheaper, funner, and has way more things to do, and not as resource hungry as Sims 3.
Also to the original poster, if you buy ANY ea game, DO NOT allow it to download and install Origin. it IS spyware.

Re: PC Games
Well he's using Steam, so fat chance of that ![]()
I have to add you on Steam Paranoia! I just need a decent PC for gaming now...
As for my recommendations:
AudioSurf is a fun indie game on Steam. It lets you load up your music and it generates a race-track thingy with obstacles that line up with the rhythm of the music. It's perfect for when you want to kill a couple minutes or just relax and listen to music while still doing something.
Chivalry: Medievel Warfare is pretty awesome too. It's a multiplayer only game similar to Battlefield games, but instead of guns, tanks, and artillery cannons you've got swords/maces/spears/bows, horses, and catapults.
The whole Half-Life series is great, I would recommend starting with the very first one just because it's a classic and it is tons of fun.
Team Fortress 2 is great, and it's free now. But you'll probably have the same problem with it I do... Everyone else has been playing it for years, so just starting out causes it to be extremely hard to compete and also nobody likes playing with new people so they'll all just quit when you join. It sucks
I have Guild Wars, but I've only played it twice so I can't honestly say how good it is. You probably aren't into MMO's though ![]()
Umm, I'm sure there's more but I can't think of any specifics right now.

I use to have that issue on Left 4 Dead 2. If you were a low stat/gametime player, high chance you would be kicked from the room, which is just BS.
It was such a large issue, i even made a thread about it on Valve Forums and its got some big attention so far, even having a moderator comment on one of the later pages: "Its being considered for a future game update to remove the option due to abuse".

Re: PC Games
Wow, thanks for the responses guys. I wasn't aware this forum was still so active.
AudioSurf looks pretty cool, I might check that one out at some point. Does the original Half-Life hold up today, or is it pretty outdated?
I can imagine Chivalry would be really fun if you get a bunch of people together (see Swaffy's video lol). Left 4 Dead and the Sims don't really seem like my kind of games, but I'll give them a look.

Re: PC Games
Yeah, AudioSurf looks pretty addicting. I wonder, though, what it would do to
a 19 minute song like this one. Finger aches, anyone?

Meh Sims 2 was annoying, I hardly did anything because I kept having to go away and load up each aria i wanted to explore ![]()

Get a computer that can run it better. My PC has the sims 2 load screens at 15 secs or less. i hate sims 3 because its all the same crap as before, overpriced expansions, recycled content from The Sims 2, Annoying music and sounds, and most of all, terriblly unrealistic graphics. The sims 2 looked better Graphics wise,

I would say Half Life held up to the time very well. The only thing that really feels outdated is the graphics.
