Pokemon X and Y
So I think there are probably enough Pokemon fans here for this to have its own topic. Latias fan has some pretty good information to start us out with in General Discussion.
I just found out about it yesterday and it sounds awesome! Unfortunately it means I will finally have to buy a 3DS.... ![]()

Re: Pokemon X and Y
Have gotten a Nintendo 3DS I don't planning on getting one anytime soon so I will probably just watch a Let's play or walkthrough of the game on launch.
As for my thoughts on the starters only like the fire one so far! Warming up to the other two though!
What about the two legendary's? They look pretty sweet I like the Y one more though! Though the X one is beyond amazing!

Re: Pokemon X and Y
If this turns out to be Fire/Fighting AGAIN I am gunna be so *bleep*ed. Thing looks so cute, Will likely be my starter when I get the game.
So whats everyones else thoughts on the starters?
I sure hope it's not Fire/Fighting; 3 in a row was definitely enough. I'm thinking it might be part Psychic judging by the move it uses in the trailer, but that's just speculation. Not really sure which I like best yet, it depends on what the last evolutions look like.

I'm going to try not looking at any of the new Pokemon before the game is released this time so everything will be a complete surprise. We'll see how that turns out...

-makes plans to send Stormy a link to a chart of the 6th Gen Pokemon when one is released, disguised of course- 0.0
Nah, but these games really look promising. Based on the fan reaction, these should bring in the big bucks for Nintendo. Might even rival the second generation in terms of sales if the 3DS keeps selling like it is. Spells trouble for the Vita if it can't get off the ground with some top tier titles.

You really think the 3DS is selling that well? I know about 2 other people who have one besides me.

Certainly better than the Vita. The Vita is just another failed attempt by Sony to even stand a chance against Nintendo with a portable console. The sad thing is that Nintendo has more competition from Apple than anyone with the various iJunk.

Actually the 3DS already as sold like 8 million units in Japan alone. That's more than the PS3s sales were in Japan since it launched. So yea. The 3DS has actually done well ever since the price drop.
Certainly better than the Vita. The Vita is just another failed attempt by Sony to even stand a chance against Nintendo with a portable console. The sad thing is that Nintendo has more competition from Apple than anyone with the various iJunk.
Take it from someone who has both a Vita and a 3DS I actually like the interface for the Vita more. Better screen, Better handling, The touch screen is pretty good. And the menus are fully customizable. You can even post multiple wallpaper at once. Which is awesome.
Granted. Its bombing like mad now. Sony is being stubborn and charging the memory cards separately. Even the bundle memory cards(Which I got) only have 4 GB which would barely get me anything on the PSN store.

Re: Pokemon X and Y
I'm a pretty big Playstation fan myself, so I'm kind of sad to see the Vita doing so poorly. It looks like a decent system, it's just that there's no competing with Nintendo when it comes to handhelds. The main reason people bought handhelds in the first place was solely for the Nintendo games, because before, that was all the was available. It seems like that trend is continuing. If I ever have any extra money lying around (haha, right), I'll probably pick a up a Vita. It's just a never ending cycle of developers not wanting to work with it because they won't make a profit, and consumers not buying the thing because there aren't enough games. ![]()
Back to the topic, it seems like I'll finally be getting some use out of my 3DS what with Luigi's Mansion and Pokemon coming out fairly soon. Also I've been wanting to try Fire Emblem, so I might pick that one up as well.
I'm going to try not looking at any of the new Pokemon before the game is released this time so everything will be a complete surprise. We'll see how that turns out...
I have a feeling that won't last very long. ![]()

Yeah, 3DS is lining up fairly close to the DS in terms of sales on a year-by-year basis. Pokemon is one of those games that sells systems. Earlier in the year (Might have been late last year actually), 3DS outsold PS Vita 46:1 in Japan. That's insane.
As for overall sales for X and Y, I'd say 18 million would be a good number, maybe upwards of 20 million depending on the quality. Obviously it won't hit those numbers this year, but by the end of the 3DS life-cycle I think it'll be up there somewhere. 3DS sales will be boosted again when Nintendo redesigns the thing again (i.e. DS lite, DSi, DSi XL, etc).

Re: Pokemon X and Y
I have a few Pokemon games, but I've never gotten around to defeating any of them completely. I already have a 3DS and plan on getting X though ![]()
Also, are they running out of names? xD All I can think of with X and Y are sex chromosomes, or Algebra... xD

Yeah X will be the one I get too. Should both be awesome but I still got to get a 3DS anyway. Awesome game.

Re: Pokemon X and Y
I definitely would like the game, though i doubt I'll buy a 3ds or if i do it will be when they're super cheap. I just don't want to bother owning multiple systems anymore and gave up on buying new handhelds. Too bad this is the system seller that usually convinces me to buy each handheld once a game is announced.

Hope you get it one day. I'm in a similar situation game's worth getting 3DS for in my book.
