Not even close.

Katrina had 1,836 fatalities, while Irene only has a death toll estimate of 'at least 21'.  In order for it to have been 'crazy' would have been to have last weeks earthquake happen at the same time of the hurricane's main-landing, and even then it would have been only a 'coincidence'.
