So is anyone else angry about Capcom cancelling MegaMan?

Anyone who's been following the fan development on Megaman Legends 3 probably knows what just happened a few days ago. If you don't, well let me explain what happened:

1. Fans wanted to create a sequel to Megaman Legends, so they started their own non-profit game.

2. Then Capcom came in and said "Hey, let's give you guys a hand with that." So they started financing the game, giving advice, and even using their own press to get the word out about the game. Even letting the fans use their servers to share their stuff for the game and allow them to publish to the 3DS.

3. Now Capcom just says "Not many fans seem interested, so we are cancelling it."

There is some other stuff Capcom promised through this too, such as releasing a prototype, videos, screenshots... But they didn't release anything.

4. All their HORRIBLE PR responses:

Despite the PR announcements being hilariously stupid, it is also infuriating at the same time.

Has anyone else seen this?

Wow, I had no idea that capcom were a bunch of jerks. Might have to rethink before I buy another of there products.

I was never really a fan of Capcom, but it seems like a SOAB move. If Hasbro got a hold of "Fighting is Magic", and then cancelled it, herds of bronies would be ticked.

i have no words to express how bothered i am by this. i was looking forward to MML3, the first two games are great. Capcom is just stupid for canceling this. and their *bleep* replies on Twitter don't help the situation.

Oh trust me there NOT the worse.

Namco are the WORST!!!!

Tales of vesperia for PS3 was realised in Japan only with LOADS of content when asked about it coming to the west they were very...sceptical...

So anyway flash forward to a few weeks ago and they were asked once again and, they say "We can't because MS paid us for it to be Exclusive...the thing is they didn’t...

And to rub salt in the round there relising Tales of Graces F in the west but ONLY because the fans wen't crazy affter that said "naah we wont bring tales of graces F to the west"

Sorry, but that barely sounds as bad as what Capcom did. There is a huge difference.

Namco just made a corporate decision that their fans didn't like. A lot of companies do this. In fact, it is more difficult to find a game company that HASN'T.

This problem with Capcom is different though. They literally tried to turn a fan-made game into a money-maker, and then right when the fans were about to see their labor turn into a prototype, Capcom takes it away saying that the fans "Didn't try hard enough", despite the fact that Capcom should not have even got involved in the first place.

ok maybe that is worse, but TBH the tales thing p***'s me off first because they KNOW they have fans in the west yet refuse acknowledge them for no reason what so ever, THEN they complain that there not making enough cash from the western market, and when they do put a game out to the west they give it stuipid goals the meat ((I think they gave clash of the Titans a REALY stupid aim for sales that everyone knew it could never meat.))

Ohh geez, guess what Capcom is doing now?

Kicking people out of their Comic-con booth for simply mentioning Megaman in any way.

Apparently it started when a Megaman cosplayer threatened to assault one of the employees. Now they are kicking everyone out who associates themselves with Megaman.

EDIT: Well I found something else out. They took out Megaman in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Their reason? Well, look at that yourself:

I think I know why:

Keiji Inafune (creator of Megaman) quit recently last year... And let's just say he didn't really give good feedback to the company. He kept saying the new management was the worst he's ever seen in his life.

Ever since, everything Megaman has just kept getting shot down. But now people are starting to notice because the MML3 game was shot down while it was in public development.

The thing is, they are blaming the fans by saying "There is not much interest in Megaman", despite it being higher than it has since EXE came out.

Crapcom is litteraly wipeing out a very successful, Cult phenonemon inducing series. Just to get back at the creater of the francise who quitted and made an insult to the company?.....Keijis right man. I mean i'm not a fan of the series Capcom usually makes. But i can at least see why people like them and are hating on the company themselves. This "New management" have been screwing up alot of the series people loved from the beggining, Just look at Resident Evil thats enough proof for their incompetence.

I've never owned a Capcom game. But that doesn't mean I dislike Capcom.
I'm sure I'd be just as mad as you guys if I were a fan of any Capcom games.

I read those messages that you showed us. Either Capcom is a terrible
company and diesn't give a crap about its fans, or they simply had [have] a
stupid employee who sucks at typing out replies to online fans. If it is
because of a bad employee, it would make sense since there is a chance that
the employee has "Clock-la grammar."

Megaman was the only video game franchise that i actually kind of dedicated to myself to besides Spyro. i never really cared too much about video games, but these two always stuck with me. and now this one's dead. just brilliant. Megaman Legends *bleep*ing 3 of all things. not just another Megaman, or Megaman X game where you go left --> right and kill things, no. MML was unique. and interesting.
