Modern Warfare 3?
MW 2.5?
I think this is important enough to keep out of the "YouTube Party!" thread.
Save yourself money, guys. MW3 looks the same as MW2 but with different
guns. [There's no real improvement.] In fact, it has the same game engine
like the previous 4+ Call of Duty games. It's going to *cough* suck.
[Cursing Warning]
You know it's bad when two kids can prove why the next game will be terrible.
Again, save yourself $60+ and refrain from buying it.
This has been a friendly warning.
This is not spam or an act of trolling.

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
I will buy it because that have already brainwashed me with their other excellent games, plus the story is actually interesting surprisingly enough.

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
No fudging way am I buying this abomination! Swaffy, like I said to you on Xbox Live last night, they should have stopped at Call of Duty: Finest Hour, because really, all we're doing is the same goddanged pop and shoot motions we've been doing for years.

Yeah but it's fun. The three original Spyro games are pretty much the same but we all love those.

But the thing is, they, (besides Mario, Donkey Kong, etc.) were the only kinds of games back then that kept repeating the same thing over and over. Same Villain, same storyline, same instructions to double jump over and over, etc. You know what I mean right?

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
Swaffeh... I need to disagree with you.
How can there be a Modern Warfare 2.5 if there hasn't been a Modern Warfare 2 yet?
MW2 was 1.5
MW3 is 1.75
And by the way, don't blame the game engine. It isn't the game engine that separates the games from each other. It is the artwork, sound, scripts, story, and gameplay that separates them.
But yea, those are the same too :-P .

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
Unreal Engine 2.5 is one of the most advanced game engines, but it didn't save Duke Nukem Forever. And the Source Engine (though revamped frequently) is still going strong after almost a decade. Good games could still be made using the first Unreal Engine. I've seen some fan-games using the G3 Pokemon engine that were almost as good as the official games (Pokemon Naranja).
So yeah, as long as an engine is playable, a game made with it has the potential to be great. Whatever engine COD uses is being wasted with standalone expansion packs.
Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

He is foolishly trying to compare Spyro to Call of Duty.
May the forum have mercy on him...

???????? I was trying to say, back then, no one was bothered by the whole recycling-story thing. Now that so many people have done it, it's annoying.

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
I used to like shooters, I really did. The more of them I play though, the more bored I get with the whole feel of it all. Battlefield, Call of Duty... What is honestly the difference? I like when games stick to a formula that works, what I don't like is when they don't build on it at all and the game feels exactly like not only the previous game in the series, but every single game in that genre.
And Maxwell, I agree with you, to an extent. I don't mind a story that is recycled, as the Spyro, Zelda, Pokemon, etc. games are. But the difference there is because the story that is being recycled changes enough to still be interesting, or it isn't meant to be taken seriously. Shooters, especially war sim shooters, tend to be a bit lacking in the story department. The ones that do attempt a story have trouble grabbing you. The only shooter whose world has ever immersed me has been the Half Life series.

Re: Modern Warfare 3?
I really don't get you guys, you say all shooters feel the same but they all feel different to me. The only two that are too similar I think are the Call of Duty and Medal of Honour franchises.

No. I just appreciate the underappreciated and never appreciate the overated, Unless it deserves it.
half FPS games do deserve it, they are fun and enjoyable, but you just seem to troll at them all in gernal.
but COD is just the same thing over and over with a new box and name
but i said in on another topic it works for disneys princesses so why can't the formula work for CoD.

It doesn't. Disney Princesses suck. They are all the same thing, they set Womans' Rights back a couple decades (if not centuries), they promote sexism and keeps the concept that girls are helpless and completely stupid idiots that need a guy to save them.
Princess and the Frog was pretty good though.

And there is my reason for loving Don Bluth movies when i was a kid. For better or worse.

And? It’s a formula that works there not going to go "OH LETS START SOMMERT ELSE!!!111111"
I mean remember the Disney Renaissance? LOADS of films, Aladdin, the little mermaid, Lion king, Beauty and the beast, Pocahontas, and then...boom they left all that and went to do space films, Lillo and Stitch, treasure planet, Atlantis, films that just weren’t Disney film, they were OK but not even close to the films they had made previously.
Its the same thing with Cod here, it works there going to stick with it.
