*crazy laugh of joy* KILL THOSE STEALTH ELVES, TRIGGER HAPPY! KILL THEM! AHAHAHAHHA-

*ahem* Yes, as I was saying, my expectations for this game have raised by 250%. These screenshots are beautiful, it looks like we're getting YotD-esque minigames, and more importantly, this game just looks like fun.

Dark Spyro and Kingdom Hearts 3D are the only reasons I'm getting a 3DS this Christmas.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

I'm gonna make a prediction.

I think the characters in this game are gonna have a reason to fight one another.  Don't know why.  But it's gonna be the classic 'we must work together to defeat the true enemy' story.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

That reminds me of another game with around 32 characters.

Maybe in Skylanders it will be like a 3-D Smash Bros (as opposed to 2.5-D) and be a minigame, rather than the main game.

Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.

OF ALL TIME!

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

Finally, a Spyro game which will be worth the purchase for the PS3! I'm not saying Dotd was bad but this looks better...

I'm a secret duck who lives in the glitchy but nice Honey Marshes. My day to day job is to spy on the blue guys so they won't get up to much mischief.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

I really want more light shed on the Dark Spyro exclusive.  It doesn't make sense that it's 'exclusive' with the 3DS version, but then it's playable on any platform.

If it's a bundle promotion to get people to buy the 3DS, I am gonna find it really hard to decide what I want to do for the purchase of this game.

I also find it strange that the 3DS version comes with triple AAA instead of of AA like the PS3 and Wii versions.  I suppose this is because the portal is smaller and more travel sized.

Also, the XBox 360 and PC versions don't require batteries at all.  I assume that this is because these versions' portals are wired.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

That’s because its style is cartoony. Not every game hast to be realistic, look at the Mario games.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

there is a delicate balance between cartoons and realism that can be achieved.  And when it is, it can produce awesomeness.

Skylanders, however, isn't making too many attempts to have realistic features and physics.  Maybe a little in the cutscenes, but nothing more.

Well, it is a platformer still. Realistic physics would be boring in a platformer.

Re: New Skylander Screenshots and Details

Skylanders strikes me as going for that more "Saturday Morning Cartoon" feel to the world and physics, whereas Legend of Spyro was aiming for a real-life-ish style. Classic Spyro was a kind of mix of both, I'd say. Especially A Hero's Tail.
