If someone spams the forum...

...please don't reply to the spam. You know how if you're getting bullied in school they always tell you to just ignore them? It's the same thing here. It's only fun for the trolls as long as they're getting a response from you guys.

I know ignoring it doesn't do much to stop it, but on the moderator end it's a bit more difficult to delete the posts afterwards if there are replies to the threads. And taunting and mocking the trolls only encourages them.

New members should have to prove themselves worthy before being able to create new topics (or be limited). I don't think "he-who-shall-not-be-named" made any posts in an existing thread.

That's a good idea. It would probably work best to limit it to one or two new topics a day since some people register to ask questions and such.

Slightly off topic, but I think they should have to have a certain number of posts before they're allowed to have signatures, too. That would hopefully stop some of the spambots we keep getting. -.-

You just missed it. There were about 20 different spam threads from the same troll a couple hours ago.

No its not. Fighting back only sinks you to there levle of low and prevokes bigger reactions. ignor them and they stop it because there is no reaction.

@Everyone who missed it: don't feel bad for missing it; it was really nothing special. It was just some guy who thought caps lock, expletives, and racial slurs were good comedic material. roll Every thread was pretty much the same.

If you don't fight a problem then it will never go away, if you are able to defeat the bully then do so.

Would work well if it was in real life but on the internet it's vastly different. Either way trolls will be trolls no matter what so feed them at your own risk, but if it's your general I'm on this forum to do nothing but troll type then just tell a mod and we'll dispose of them.
