Any NASCAR fans?
This is probably a topic fail.
However, Swaffy seems like he might have a little redneck in him...
I'm excited about this weekend's Daytona 500.

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
Yeah, but this topic really is about NASCAR, lol
Here's some good footage:
Last Years Daytona 500 finish:
The Daytona 500 lineup is determined by two races called the Gatorade Duels. These races were on Thursday. Here's how they finished:
Duel 1:
Duel 2:
LOL, I like how the crash stole the attention. No one seems to care that it was a photo finish.
Joey Logano crash:
"Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield. See, I was the bug, so that's not good."
LOL.
And for the more perverted NASCAR fans:
Spyro relates to NASCAR at least a little. Activision will release their first NASCAR game this spring under the title: "NASCAR 2011: The Game"
Here's some preview footage:

I'm not a redneck, Hippo.
If/When I do watch television, I watch Mythbusters or something on the
Military channel. I like guns and pretty explosions.
And Synthony, I'm a male, not a female. No offense taken.

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
Don't really watch racing sports, but on an unrelated note, there's a track for the Indy 500 at my city (which nearly disappeared due to lack of funds and popularity, but happily this didn't happen).

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
Two main racing events you already know - there's Nascar, and then there's the Indy.

oh, ok. there's a race in edmonton for the IZOD indycar series curcuit. It's actually an Indy 500. There is only one Indy 500 race, and it takes place in Speedway, Indiana ever year on memorial day weekend.

I'm not a redneck, Hippo, but I think NASCAR is alright.
Swaffy... You are a military loving, extremely religious, video game playing man who lives in Texas, and you like NASCAR.
The only way how you could be more redneck is if someone took a red brush and wiped right across the back of your head.

No ... I'm not into NASCAR. Hence me saying that I watch Mythbusters
and the Military channel.

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
Well, you really shouldn't be offended anyways. The term "redneck" is not nearly as offensive at it used to be. And there are several ways of using those types of words to describe something that is not necessarily insulting to those kinds of people, but is more depriving that person's sense of reality. Which is why people from New Jersey are so annoying.
For instance, some people who lived in a big city all their life would consider a small town of 10,000 "redneck country".
Ghetto is almost used the same way.

1. You're saying that as if redneck is an insult. Rednecks are typically hard workers. The term 'redneck' actually came from getting sunburn on the back of their necks after working in the sun.
2. I live in New England out in the forest, play video games, and like the military too. Should I be offended if anyone called me a redneck?
3. You live in a city. Did you seriously think I was serious when I called you a redneck? Heck, I don't even know if rednecks play video games.
4. This is a forum, a paralepsis is obviously noticeable. Especially since you obviously have plenty of time to think your post and change whatever you'd like.

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
Wow, what a thread. I beleive that Reddragon and I have had this topic a few years ago. I'm probably one of the biggest NASCAR fans there is beleive it or not. I run a fantacy NASCAR league, I watch nearly every weekend, and contrary to the seriotype: I'm not redneck ![]()
The 500 was a little odd this year with the continual draft lock, but that was sort of what I had expected when they repaved it anyways. All of the other races have been pretty exciting, and it's looking to me that the old Bristol is back. I'm just gonig to say that this Sunday will likely be one of the best Bristol races since they added the progressive banking in 2007.
BTW, there's only 1 Indy 500 Track, and it's in Indiana. You were refering to a track which features an Indy Car Series event correct?
If tomorrow may never come, and yesterday is just a memory, then what is today worth?

Yeah, since he's from Edmonton, CA, he's probably referring to an IRL sanctioned track. Not an actual 500 mile race, the the Indy 500.

Re: Any NASCAR fans?
I would guess he's refering to the Long Beach track. I'm not familiar with the IRL however.
Bristol race today was pretty exciting, but I was sort of disappointed about the winner (even though I predicted him to win)
Also, Swaffy is not a kind of person that I'd think of as a NASCAR fan. The most hardcore racing fans are usually intelegant, engineer type people who aren't too proud to go against the norm of society. He's not the enginerer type from what I've seen in the past.
