5th gen Pokemon

So yeah, all 5th gen Pokemon were revealed last year in Japan and now the English names of the new gen were released about a week ago. (here's the list on Serebii: http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon.shtml )

The game is supposed to be released March 6th and I have been anticipating for that day for forever now! Seriously I am going crazy because I think this gen turned out AMAZING! But like every other generation there is always a few "WTF Pokemon" (some people complain about the trash bag Pokemon yet most seem to forget that the 1st gen had a purple mound of mud with eyes slapped on, each gen has it's weird pokemon)

Anywho, who else is getting Black/White? What are your favorites of this gen? And what is or would be your team?

My favs have to be basically all of the dragons, especially Kyurem, Hydregion (and it's pre-evolved forms) and Haxorus. I also love Joltik, Whimsicott, Scrafty, Chandelure, Scolipede, Reuniclus and Zebstrika.

and by using this: http://pokemon.marriland.com/black_white/team_builder (which btw is still using most of their Japanese names) I found my team which is: Serperior, Zebstrika, Scrafty, Archeops, Galvantula, and Hydregion.

I'm getting Black alreday played White on an emulator a while back so it would be nice to play it in a language i understand.

Honestly don't think you should've made the poll until the game comes out - otherwise people's going to make assumptions on their own biasedness for/against Pokemon.

I've already preordered Black and I'm highly looking forward to it. I'm trying to avoid looking at the info that's already been discovered from people playing the already-released Japanese versions.

p.s. erm, you should probably keep the english names of the new pokemon in spoilers, as not everyone would want to know that right away. Even serebii.net stated this.

I'm wanting to get Pokemon Black when it comes out - I noticed these are the first games that have a UK-release date which is before the US one. That in itself was enough to blow me away.

At the moment, I'm reserving judgement on what I think of the new Pokemon. The starters are quite cool in my opinion; much better than the Sinnoh ones at least. However, SapphireSheep is certainly correct in the fact that there are some... frankly strange Pokemon this time around. The Ice-Creams just scare me...

Yes I know it's spoilers and I am sorry if I ruined anything for you but I honestly just don't care what I say about this generation because a lot people already know about and if others don't want any spoilers then it's best not to click on any threads about it. Also the poll is for the 5th gen Pokemon themselves, not the game.

Some of the new Pokemon are pretty weird, but I'm getting used to them from a certain pointlessly addictive collectible game that may or may not be linked to in my signature. >.>

Just pre-ordered Black version yesterday X3 now for the worst part. More waiting ._. I like both Zekrom and Reshiram but I had to go with Reshiram because I usually like anything that's fluffy XD I also prefer some of the exclusive Pokemon to Black than I do White. Whimsicott being one of them. Although I do like Reuniclus alot but I guess I'll just wait for the evident Pokemon Grey. (or at least most fans assume that's what it will be called)

I pre-order my copy from gamestop on the computer yet they haven't sent it out yet sad When I pre-ordered my copy of SoulSilver I got it the day it came out... *sigh* I've been going crazy for days ;A;

Mine was delivered on the day it was released. smile I adored every minute of it (and am continuing to adore it) - the final climax has got to be the best they've ever had (but on par with Platinum's). My team consists of Serperior, Liepard, Sawk, Sigilyph, Bisharp and Reshiram. I didn't look that many of the Pokémon up so me and my sister (she's got White) had a good time crying 'what is that?' at most of the wld things that appeared. They're obviously running out of ideas for animals to design Pokémon on - they're making cell, gear and ice cream Pokémon - I mean, come on. XD

You gotta admit, some of the older ones were just as random. Magnemite is based on a magnet; Exeggcute is based on a pile of eggs; and Grimer is based on a pile of sludge. If first gen and fifth gen had been switched, I'll bet people would be saying they're running out of ideas anyway. tongue

But I have noticed that some of the new ones are like makeovers of old ones. The Conkledurr (DURR) line is the new Machamp line, and the Gigalith line is the new Golem line. Both have three evolutions and evolve by trading, just like their first gen counterparts.

Honestly, when I first played it, I thought it was going to be ehh, but then I realized: OHMYGOD THE NAMES ARN'T IN CAPITALS!! And thus became the best Pokemon game.
By far this version of Pokemon is my favorite. Aside from finding a pokemon in every bit of grass, the stupid and outrages camera angles and 3Dness, and the amount of nonstop talking... Best Pokemon ever! <3

Oh, and N is pretty amazing.
