Now think about this question seriously:

If 42 is the answer to life the universe and everything. That means:

Life + Universe + Everything = 42
By definition of Equality

Universe + Everything = 42 - Life
If we subtract Life from both sides

Chuck Norris(Universe + Everything) = Chuck Norris(42 - Life)
Multiply both sides by Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris * Universe + Chuck Norris * Everything = 42 Chuck Norrises - The life of Chuck Norris
Distributive Property

Chuck Norris * Universe + Chuck Norris * Everything = 41 Chuck Norrises
Since if we take a life of Chuck Norris from 42 Chuck Norrises, that would make 41 Chuck Norrises.

Universe + Everything = 41
If we divide by Chuck Norris.

Therefore, one can conclude this:
Life = 1.

Okay, now we just need to find out what Universe and Everything equals!

U + E = 41

One definition of universe is everything that exists, has existed, and will ever exist. If so, then we know that E < U.

Let's use Ep for everything in the past, En for everything now, and Ef for everything in the future.

So if U = Ep + En + Ef, we can plug those into our equation.

(Ep + En + Ef) + En = 41

2En + Ep + Ef =41
Simplified.

So this means that the meaning of life is more important for the time period that the life is being experienced. This is common natural law, i guess.

now nothing is the opposite of everything. So we can use nothing (N) as the inverse of everything (E) to help us solve the equation.

N * En = 1

(N)2En + (N)Ep + (N)Ef = (N)41

En + 1 + 1 = 41N

Even though nothing was used as everything's inverse, we know that nothing is 0.

So, En + 2 = 0

Everything now = -2

Furthermore, U = -2 + Ep + Ef

That means that Ep (everything in the past) = U - Ef + 2

Kind of makes sense since everything in the past can't include anything in the future.

Who can solve for Ep and or Ef?

Guys, we may actually solve this... Seriously... Think of how famous we could be?

Ep = U - Ef + 2

The Laws of Thermodynamics state that matter and energy can not be destroyed or created, therefore I think I could simplify your equation to:

Ep = -2
En = -2
Ef = -2

Since if En makes -2, then it can't change in the universe. Although this is assuming the General Theory of Relativity is correct and Quantum Theory isn't. Let's assume that is the case and come back to that later, because I think I just found something out:

U = -6 in that case, and if E < U, then the equation is impossible.

Therefore, Quantum Mechanics must be true and the General Relativity Theory must be false! In which case, the value of U can differ depending on what time we are in.

U can not be a constant, but must vary depending on E, so therefore, E can't be a constant either.

Therefore, the final solution is:

L = 1
U = 41 - E
E < 20.5

There, not only did we just solve Life, the Universe, and Everything, but we also disproved the General Theory of Relativity! And along with it? String Theory and Chaos Theory!

Really, really? You mean the year will run as normal and no stupid, predicted asteroid will smash into Earth for the benefit of idiotic directors who want to make a disaster movie about it? Come on, the moment they make a film about the world ending you realise that it won't. If it really was going to end then they'd be sensetive about it and probably not tell anyone about it so as not to cause panic.
