Vengeance is Pain
Note: This story will be fairly different to the normal ANB story, just so you know.
Chapter 1
The Betrayal
He was my best friend.
When we were young, we were inseperable. We were so close people suspected that we'd come from the same egg - because back then, we looked simalar. I was a bright, vivid orange, and though he was a plasma purple, our eyes were next to identical. His were a bright, glittering gold, mine were golden with a hint of firey orange. We were always together, more than we were with our families. I used to fear what would happen when we grew up and I had to raise a family and he would have to go to the dragon temple to train, but I needn't have feared, the dragon I knew in my friend died before we could read such an age.
Malefor.
He was great, fun, imaginative, playful. He used to adore his family, adore my family, adore me.
'Tess!' was the first word he said.
I said 'buffalo meat', so it didn't really work both ways.
We spent half our lives in the sea. I was a fire dragon, but Whelplings don't really class as a type until they reach the stage of a young dragon. They're Neutral, which means they don't have a type and they can't breathe anything - the only way of telling their future type in by scales.
Anyway, we used to swim under the sea with eels and leeches. Most dragons hated eels and fish and leeches, but we weren't really the ones to care.
"Race ya," Malefor would say.
He was always faster than me in the water, but I had the unnatural ability at racing. He technically was faster than me, but I could manouver myself with such agility so I often won.
I trusted him.
But I remember the day when the trust broke.
We were both thirteen years old by now and he'd been missing for days. I was beginning to worry; he never left without telling me. My parents and her parents weren't fussed, he often left for days. The difference was that this time, she hadn't taken me with her. I remember mother taking me aside and trying to talk to me.
"You're growing up, Tessina, he will start needing privacy - and you will need yours," she said.
"I don't want to grow up," I said childishly, as if I couldn't stop science by sheer willpower. "We made a vow never to grow up."
"Don't be ridiculous, child," said Mother. "Everyone grows up."
"So what?" I snapped sulkily.
I stalked off. Malefor and I had vowed to each other that no matter how much we would grow on the outside, on the inside we had to stay ourselves, Mally and Tess.
When he got back that evening I threw myself at him, hugging him hard. He seemed very vague for a respose so I started hitting him.
"Hey, hey! Tessina!" he growled. His voice was getting much deeper.
"I was worried, so worried!" I hissed
"What? Why, I was only gone three days!" he said, astonished.
"You didn't tell me where," I hissed.
BRB to finish.
