Looking for books that feature Talking dragons
Hello there..
Now i have read plenty of books but now i wonder what other books are out there that feature talking dragons or dragons in general that are not "HEY LOOK LUZ DRAGONS KILL IT" guys.
Books i have red (so don't suggest them)
Eragon series (cycle)
Stone and Dragon series
Deltra quest.
Some suggestions would be nice

Re: Looking for books that feature Talking dragons
I used to read a lot of books like this, and I remember having similar problems finding books with dragons as the good guys. I could only remember some of the book titles and the author's names, so I found the rest of the titles by searching on Google. (I probably read these 5 or 6 years ago, so I don't know if I could honestly recommend them now. XD)
The Enchanted Forest series by Patricia C. Wrede
Dealing with Dragons
Searching for Dragons
Calling on Dragons
Talking to Dragons
The Pit Dragon Trilogy by Jane Yolen
Dragon's Blood
Heart's Blood
A Sending of Dragons
Dragon's Heart (This one apparently came out in 2009, so I've never read it.)

I am too. Perhaps at a slightly slower pace than Rurik though! XD
Anyway... books with talking dragons... I haven't read the book, but I've seen the film Dragonheart. Awesome film. To my knowledge it's based off a book, so why don't you see if you can find that? It has a talking dragon called Draco.
EDIT: Typos...

The first book that came to mind was Eragon, but somebody already
mentioned that. I don't read books, but I do know that How To Train Your
Dragon is a book. The movie was amazing, so maybe the book is, too.

Re: Looking for books that feature Talking dragons
Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke:
Firedrake, a brave young dragon, his loyal brownie friend called Sorrel and a lonely boy called Ben are united as if by destiny. Together, they embark on a magical journey to find the legendary place where silver dragons can live in peace forever. With only a curious map and the whispered memories of an old dragon to guide them, they fly across moonlit lands and seas to reach the highest mountains in the world.
Along the way, they discover extraordinary new friends in unlikely places and a courage they never knew they had. Just as well, for the greatest enemy of all is never far behind them - a heartless monster who's been waiting a very long time to destroy the last dragons on earth.

It's a great book, it's been a favorite of mine for a very long time.

Reasons?
I would suggest Dragon's Keep to anyone who wants a good book. The only problem is that it makes you want more (too bad it's a single novel XD).

Re: Looking for books that feature Talking dragons
The Rain Wild chronicles? Sure, there are no dragons until the second book, but hey, maybe you'll learn to enjoy interactions between regular humans. And the dragon that turns up is vaguely interesting.
The thing about the Inheritance cycle was that it was great when stuff was happening. When Eragon was fighting his way through a city it was pretty awesome. But only about 8% of the book was like that. The rest was just extremely boring wandering through wilderness.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: Looking for books that feature Talking dragons
I fealt that there was a sense of progression in Eragorns character when he was wandering with Brom because he was being trained at the same time. I have onlly read half of Eldest and not even touched Brisingr (or however you spell it) so I don't know how the wandering stacks up in those.
