Spyro's trademarks/copyrights -- merchandise rights, & TV show, and games
NOTE: This is what I found during my free time, the statements and/or sentences I have typed are simply educational guesses to what are the Spyro trademarks/copyrights are here for. I am not a lawyer lawl...! Enjoy.
Ever wondered what those trademarks and copyrights are for? To protect Spyro (or as I have to properly say, "Spyro the Dragon"), from being jacked off by other companies and reserve the entries to fulfill Universal/Vivendi's legal work. But if you found unusual stuff that shouldn't supposed to be there but it is, look no further. After some researching -- I pulled up some interesting
Serial #:
78377370 (Spyro the dragon, live)
78377365 (Spyro, live)
If you see the end of the summary sentence, you would see the words: "(...) ongoing television series featuring animated characters; ongoing television series featuring live action characters". Does that give you a clue? Basically, there was once going to be a TV show about the characters, animated or live-action. But as you can see, the filing date was "March 2, 2004", while the registration date is "January 31, 2006", (and the other link "September 20, 2005"). Unfortunately, I can't tell if the document is submitted and registered successfully within the legal system. Why? Because it will determine if the show will set in the Classic era, or Legend era. Why a possibility of a TV show? Universal or Vivendi Universal has been well known for making entertainment in many forms. However, there's only one other reason to make such a notable trademark -- so no one can use the purple draggie's name. Right now, it's read "Live", so it's not abandoned yet.
Serial #:
75493557 (Spyro the dragon, dead)
75493546 (Spyro the dragon, dead)
75493435 (Spyro, dead)
75493434 (Spyro, dead -- same as first link but w/ shorter name)
75493433 (Spyro, dead -- same as the second link but w/ shorter name)
The Spyro franchise has been known for pouring out the merchandise from the past, to the rest. However, these are some of the more pieces of merchandise that I never seen more: Clothing (the third link), checkerboards (I think I saw a picture of it), flying disks, costume masks (I think there's also one that exists), and more. I have no idea if any of those things exist -- but the remainder remains the same, protect trademarks. I think there are still pouring more merchandise... XP
Serial #:
V3467D896 (Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage)
PA0001232215 (Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy)
PA0001598635 (The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night)
There are copyright entries of the game names of Spyro, nothing special. Tho, some of the info of people's names and companies seems very interesting. They registered it themselves, with the lawyers on board.
If your asking about the movie trademark -- I tried searching for it, nothing. Maybe it's in the other trademark/copyright wesbites (Europe, or Australia)
Here are the following links that I used to search the entries:
http://tess2.uspto.gov/ (trademark database)
http://cocatalog.loc.gov/ (copyright database)
If you spot any type of legal info regarding the purple dragon -- post it here. Additionally, please comment on my discoveries. ![]()
In my world, I believe that there are many, many ideas that are waiting to be created; by inspiration, renewing an old idea, or just by accident.
