Re: 9/11 Never again
I will allow this to stay open to commemorate a terrible event, but if I see anything POLITICAL break out on this I'm locking it right away.
It was a terrible and horrible event that took away many lives needlessly. It makes me sad that people in the world will do such horrible things to try and pass off extreme beliefs.
Either way it's in the past and we will remember it always.

Re: 9/11 Never again
My Social Studies teacher told my class her 9/11 story today. She lost her boyfriend, who was a firefighter, and her cousin's husband, who was actually the pilot of Flight 175.
Suprisingly, I didnt cry this time. She didnt go into detail of how it all went down, but Im pretty depressed.
My dad worked around the Twin Towers since he was a construction worker, and he called my mom when it all happened. I was 5 back then, but remeber seeing it on the news and everyone in the room was quiet and shocked.

Re: 9/11 Never again
It was a terrible act, and because of 9/11, America has been at war with terrorism for 8 years. Compare that when we were at war with Japan for 4 years back at WWII. But I have good news about the current war. ![]()

Re: 9/11 Never again
Yeah... I realized that a little late today.... probably still caught up in the stupid crap about 9-9-09
Some hailed it as the end of the world..... like 12-21-12.... lol... (aren't people stupid sometimes?)
But yeah... It is starting to fall from our minds more an more.... And just like Peral Harbor 9/11 will fade away with age... but it will never be forgoten so long as our culture exists...

If tomorrow may never come, and yesterday is just a memory, then what is today worth?

Re: 9/11 Never again
My father's birthday is today.
It reminds me of how the London bombings took place on my birthday. My father was watching the news on his computer that day, and I eventually asked him to stop, because it made me very sad.
Anyways, all this red tape for the creation of the memorial is starting to annoy me. Of course, our debt doesn't help either - I don't think the memorial is top priority for the mayor right now, he's focusing on the people that are still alive.

I feel great sympathy for those families who lost a loved one on that dreadful day. I pray it'll never happen again.

Re: 9/11 Never again
what makes ME mad about what happened is that the teachers and other adults were like, "don't let the kids see this, it'll only breed anger." this is something to BE angry about! I'm sorry, but America got a kick between the legs, and the adults decide us kids "don't need that kind of stress?" come ON, we have a right to know if something terrible like this happens.
this day will truly live in infamy, and if the human race expands to the cosmos, and there is never another war, but we have forgotten the lessons of days like 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, than survival will no longer matter, because we will have forgotten what makes us human.
We must not... we CANNOT forget events like these.
I will never forget. will you?

Re: 9/11 Never again
You do realize that a nuclear explosion will kill many civilians as well as terrorists, right? That would make us every bit as bad as terrorists, and even more.
