Strokin' ma ego, strokin' ma ego. Nice anecdote.
Also, Swaffy, you spelt one with a capital letter. Seriously, I don't need one on pronouns adressed to me. It's okay, really, but thank you.

Watch the flames/trolling. Especially you Aceedwin. You've been flirting with the line well enough over the past few weeks anyways. If any serious flaming breaks out we'll have to lock General Chat for a second time and we don't want to.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Again, no, it won't solve the problem of deforestation, as more humans = more wood needed = more forests cut down.
Also, do you think they think of the long term? No. A rebellion would be very, very hard, as it's quite easy for someone in Africa to create quite an army if they have some money.
EDIT: Africa's already growing something - rice. They're still starving.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Heh heh, flirting with the line. Man I have a serious weakness for clever metaphors.
But deforestation will slow as less land is required for farming, so the situation is better than if we wouldeat meat.
And finally, they do think in the long term, decade or two down the line. Africa is also growing meat. For men in coats who come down from Sainsburys or whatever supermarket you guys have. The amount of rice theygrow isn't enough. THey need to create more farms, or a higher land efficiency. As I've shown, land efficiency is increased when vegetarianism is established.

Re: General Discussion - 2
I really don't think being a vegetarian compromises well with your own health.
A Guy: rice has very little nutrients, so of course they're still starving (but that's what you were probably getting at anyways)

Re: General Discussion - 2
Every Hindu in the world is vegetarian (I know I'm pawing the forbidden subject line, just using an example). They survive just fine. Bean contain all the protein a human body needs. Seriously, humans can be herbivores, but interestingly, not carnivores.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Africans need to grow plants that are more nutrient- and space-efficient (and maybe time-efficient?). The problem is, again, corruption that allows government to hold too much power over the people as well as the constant dry seasons - as a developing nation, they have little to no irrigation, meaning they can't grow as much as developed nations.

Wheat is more space efficient that animals. Anyway, are you saying meat can solve any of these problems?

No, I am saying that vegetarianism won't solve all the world's problems.
Some, maybe, but not all.

Re: General Discussion - 2
I never said that. I said it would help more than meat eating overall. Do you submit the point.

Re: General Discussion - 2
Then socially, and morally, as we earlier decided, vegetarianism is superior. So how is meat-eating superior?

Alright, so you place a small pleasure (which of course is a matter of opinion) above society, world problems, and morality. Huh.

Re: General Discussion - 2
No, I do not, that was a joke post. Anyways, I would probably cry if I didn't have any more chicken.
EDIT: If I had a choice between me and society, though, I would probably pick me.

So would I, but is small personal pleasure enough to justify mass suffering?

Re: General Discussion - 2
Being a vegitarian signifies disownage of what you are. Vegitarians for the most part are generaly inclined to do precicely as thay are told they should. Where as those who eat meat are generaly inclined to think for themselves and be who they are. Vegitarians tend to follow society and be untrue to themselves and follow the croud.
As for what is right and what is wrong.... I am not at liberty to discus such items at this place and time due to reasons that I'm not fully at liberty to discus in the manner that I desire. (Religion 1st time and Politics the 2nd)
Being that this is... well... never mind.... (Politics ban again) (It's amazing how if you don't try and filter out baned subjects how often they will appear in your post. I filtered my thoughts after typing them out this time.... This was much longer before that... lol)
