Yeah, I noticed that. the radio news said earlier: "One hundred get
deathly sick in a school up in New York from the swine flu. [About] thirty
others die from the swine flu."

Well, the U.S. has over a billion people in it. One hundred is barely of a
number compared to a billion.

That's not what I'd expect to hear from you. I shall have to rethink you now, thanks a lot.

Done... Didn't think you were a mass moralist...

Actually the United States only has just above 300 million people in it. Though we can still count all those nice illegal people....still don't think that would be above one billion. Even still only 150 or so is nothing even on that scale. The media has just done what they do best...make a bunch of hype over something pretty pointless.

Still, considering the small number of people infected, a lot have been put in bad shape. Hopefully medical professionals are trying to find some way to combat it.

Let's say that if you happen to catch it, I won't have sympathy for you. There's no gain in trying to downsize the situation like that. Better safe than sorry obviously.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Why? For pointing out the bluntly obvious media junk that is always hyped up thanks to the media?...Okay then. Sure I suppose I should catch a disease and die for making a comment like that. Forgive me for speaking out about the obvious.

If you catch something then you catch it. Far be it from me to question where stuff like this comes from but it's part of the world...whatever happens happens and the most we can do is just take steps to prevent it from happening.

I could care less about your sympathy in the matter if that's how you want to put it. All I've done is spoken my mind.

Re: General Discussion - 2

You could care less lol.......I think you meant "couldn't"

Anyways, there are some things you shouldn't take seriously from the media, such as what Brangelina did together yesterday night. And then there are some things that shouldn't be taken for granted, even if you're unsure of the scope of the situation. I think it's good to listen for once to the media when it comes to public awareness of a disease. Sure you might not catch it, but obviously just do your best to prevent yourself from getting such a disease, as you apparently mention in your second paragraph. However, the undermining of the situation speaks otherwise from what you've just said.

Not saying that you should catch the disease for speaking your mind, silly. Just at least sound like you're prepared for the situation. "What happens happens" IMO describes a lazy mindset in which it seems you can't be bothered to take any more precaution and awareness than anyone else is in dealing with the situation. I'm sure you'll be fine nevertheless, but you don't go taking a pandemic, or even a potential one, with a shrug of your shoulders. Just safeguard yourself from all "what if" situations.

Re: General Discussion - 2

What happens happens is the mindset that I always use and what my family always uses...and wow....we're not lazy people. Imagine that huh? And their is no real difference between could and couldn't care less.

The media hypes up just about everything because the media is controlled by the Government. They enjoy taking our minds off just about all the other factors of daily life that really do need attention.

Do I care about this disease to a degree? Maybe a little bit but I'm not freaking out over something that has happened before. Didn't they say the same thing about the Bird Flue?...yeah and that lasted long just like they thought. Just because I live by what happens happens it doesn't make you a lazy person..you can still safeguard something as hard as you want to and it will still happen if it's meant to happen.

All I'm saying is that I'm not going to freak out over something like this when odds are that all it's going to do is cause a minor distraction over how to cure the devastating Swine Flu that is tearing the nation apart...which it isn't. I really have better things to worry about in my life.

Re: General Discussion - 2

They have started to shut up about the economy. Everyone's got bored of stories of doom and rich poloticians buying "unusual" items. So it's time to go on about another potential epidemic! Yay!

[*Skips the two long essay posts above*]

The news exaggerates on almost everything. Or at least half their stories.
I don't even watch television anymore. It's a waste of my time.

Re: General Discussion - 2

You can't really havea  good conversation/debate if you don't read or even scan posts like that. Lazy.

As for TV I rarely watch it; they took 10 Items or Less off the air suddenly, and every once in a while I watch Yes Dear, and when I get the chance I watch Dragon Tales.

Pff, lucky. I don't think I have PBS kids. I've been missing my shows. (Teletubbies, Sagwa, Dragon Tales, etc.)

Edit: Eeeh, never mind! I DO have PBS kids.

Hhhhh ... Aicebo.

I have a reason to skip them ... I was about to leave to go to youth
group. I had to get my father's 12 string guitar so I can play it. I didn't
have much time, my friend. Please understand.

Also, I find it hard for me to read long text, especially books. I am better
off with visual aid. It's the way my brain works.

Re: General Discussion - 2

Hmm... I've thought of a Question with a capital "Q". It's the most interesting one since, say, "What is a mind made of?".

I am sometimes percieved as an insane genius (I make no comment on that opinion, just repeating what others say). Now the interesting thing is that I am percieved as a genius not because of knowledge or my reasoning skills, but because of my ability to analyse my own mind, and think outside the realms of sanity.

But the question is, "Is it my insanity that makes me a genius, or my genius that makes me insane?"

Yeah, I know it's not exactly humble, but there you go... Any takers?

Yeah I think it's a bluff more or less anyhow

That's the exact same freaking thing that I said. Just over 300 million people live in the United States.

Stop making some random angry post and then apologizing right after it. If you have an issue with the forum rules just take it up with Spyrorocks.
