The thinking thread
This is a thread where you can post really long paragraphs about whatever you want. The difference between this and the talk about anything thread, is that you are supposed to think really hard about what you are posting. Here's one I made earlier (not really).
The mind is made up of experiences, indirectly. First your mind is a personality. A personality is made up of perspectives. An example of a perspective is optimism. These perspectives are made up of emotions, jealousy, happiness, or hatred. Finally, emotions are made up of experiences. An experience is a combination of electrical impulses which occur in a brain. Knowledge is encrypted, sort of, in experiences.
Ta daa. If you understood that, I feel genuinely sorry for you. I also happen to know in this entire thread, not one person will do anything like that. Oh well.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

Re: The thinking thread
Just a quick reminder that thought does NOT have to be in the form of "really long paragraphs".
Also, I understood what you said, but it's a dead end from there. Is this thread purely for deciphering what you're trying to say, or is each post supposed to instill some real thought and discussion? Basically, you're spewing out intelligent-sounding stuff and that's about it.

Re: The thinking thread
The thinking thread eh? hmmmmmmmmm.
You know i do tend to get lost in my own thoughts like when i was thinking of tieing yin and yang into my book like good and evil which counteracts the existance of a heaven and you know were. that existance is sustandwere in the center of yin and yang. think of it as in it being on a graph. the yin and yang is centered and things match up. to the negative side is evil and to the positie is good, yes evil goes into the good side and good goes into the evil side, but that goes to show that either of them canot go with out conflick. o i was thinking that since out existance/dimention is consitered to be the point (0,0) on the graph then going up would be into another dimensional relm which could be anything as well as going down, same goes with left and right.
But then there is also thethought that goes on in my mind of what is at the end of space?is it a black hole itself sucking space and time up to be shot like a worm hole into another dimension like the yin and yang thery i gave that is like the random white dot in the black and black dot in the white? or is it a side of a curbing in Denver that out entire space and existance is nothing but an atome to another woprlde itself?
But then..... *goes on for other hour*
Ok ill stop talking know and let you all think..... ![]()

Re: The thinking thread
That's what I mean. I always thought time and space were spherical. At the end of the universe, a rip in the fabric of reality will suck in everything back into the time before the big bang. Haven't the foggiest how that'll work, but a sphere of something in the endless span of nothing. Kinda had a ring to it.
See, it can work...

Re: The thinking thread
I don't think it was like a ring, but some sort of Nebula, I think...nebula's and wormholes in space can be literally time warp's or something like that...
How do you think Black holes stay there, or space is still there if black holes suck everything in? And I'll bet theres millions of them out there!
OOC: lol, I like space, it's interesting because there's sooo many things we havn't found out about yet!

Re: The thinking thread
Well, I have to talk about my argument about logic, which I had with this other guy. (Lasted 3 hours...)
Well with logic, mostly people say that there is only one logical answer to anything, well that may be true with questions such as "Sarah is taller than Steve, and Steve is taller then James, Sarah is 1.25 times taller than James, who is 20 cm shorter than Steve. Steve is 1.4 m tall. How tall is Sarah?". There is only one logical answer to such a question, which would be 1.5 m, but with a situation such as someone going on one of those blind date programs, you are given information about 3 different people, then decide on who you are going to choose, but it is your opinion on the data which gives you your logical solution, the solution may not be logical to everyone, and all of that methinks makes logic opinionated in such a situation. So in situations that are not mathematical questions, where all the data has been given, logic is opinion. Which means also in situations where you haven't been given all the data. If someone has stolen something, and it has been narrowed down to 2 people who could have stolen it, there is only one logical solution, accuse the person who is guilty, but you do not have all the information, so you may simply decide that the logical answer would be that the person who is actually innocent is guilty, based on their personality, or whatever. So if you haven't got all the data, it also makes logic opinion, or if the answer to the question requires your opinion on the information given, the logical answer is opinionated.
If anyone has bothered to read this, L-O-L...

Re: The thinking thread
Wolfy... a black hole is the opposite of concentrated matter, and by that I mean positrons (positron= a type of atom with reversed electrical charges as a normal atom, i.e. positive electrons). Like a dwarf star. Strangely, everything in the universe has an opposite. And if you add the two opposites together, they cancel each other out. If you play two sound waves, at the same frequency and wavelength, with opposite amplitudes, there is no sound. If a positron and an atom collide, they cease to exist (as far as we know).
Actually you got the complete wrong end of the stick on what I meant. I mean time is circular. At theend of the universe, the universe begins. I'm not sure how it will happen. Maybe a tiny rip in time. But that's my theory.
On prince's argument, you've kinda dug yourself a hole and then jumped in. There isn't always a logical answer. If you are forced to make a decision of heads of tails, it doesn't make you logical if you guess correctly. The point is there isn't always a logical answer, because of quantum physics. Why quantum physics? If we didn't have quantum physics, it would be possible to predict absolutely everything that happens in the universe, and so there would always be a logical answer.

There is ALWAYS a 'logical' answer, we just can't always find it.

Re: The thinking thread
Oh, wow, so there's actually something, that CAN;T be sucked in by a black hole? And THAT'S why space hasn't been sucked up yet right?
That sounds about right, becasue if the earth has been here for millions of years, then How could it start before the first century, which weve dated back, and people STILL say that it was millions of years before that, that the univers, or time (Whichever you want) began...that theory sounds about right, I actually thought about that like YEARS ago....could it be possible by some time warp thing?
Prince: yes there is always a logical answer, but our minds are not alway capable of realizing what that is, we only use about 1/40th(Something like that) of our brain, so there are answers that our brains are unable to comprehend or even think of!
Aceedwin: Stupid question, but, do you know what the basic idea of quantim physics are? or is the whole thing just as dang complicated?
(I have ALOT of questions ok? Especially about space!)

Re: The thinking thread
Well, I'm not entirely sure what quantum physics are, but I know what they do. Quantum physics is basically the origin of chaos. It creates a completely random effect contrary to the ordinary laws of physics. Which is why the world is unpredictable and therefore it is sometimes impossible to know the logical answer in advance.

Re: The thinking thread
So quantum physics screws everything up right? Dude your smart ok....it IS possible to know the logical answer in advance though, like flipping a coin..You can calculate about how many flips it does in a second, how heavy it is, what air has in effect to it, and how close the ground is, so if you do all the math, you can find out what it will land on, heads or tails, but then basicly when you put the quantum physics in the mix, then air starts blowing alot harder at times, and the person flips differently every time, and it will go higher or lower due to the person flipping the coin, which could screw things up.

Re: The thinking thread
*claps* You understand! Interestingly enough, if quantum physics weren't there, it would be possible to predict a living beings movements.

Oh! That would be cool, to beable to see what a polar bear was going to do or something like that! And I just learned about that, I mean I've heard of quantum physics but I havn't ever had anything to do with it in school or whatever until now, lol!

Okay, that was some really strange and annoying spam. And wolfy, I also mean you could predict humans. I wonder how easily you're going to take this.

Not unless I let you you're not. By the way, I forgot to mention there are other theories about black holes. Like if you go into a black hole, you travel through time and space and you emerge in a white hole.

Re: The thinking thread
IS there a such thing as a white hole? And the black hole theory does seem likely becasue it can't just keep sucking you one direction forever, you'd have to get out at somepoint, whether you were dead or alive at the time.

Re: The thinking thread
I believe black holes take you to an invisible plain knowen as the 5th dimension. And you come out of what I call a 'constant expulsion of gravity' or white hole but you won't see this invisible plane becuase you will end up being ripped apart by the two holes as the two gravitys cancel each other out. Or if you fall through a quaser ......well there is'nt much to say you would be incenarated before you end up falling in.
Note:Quasers are energised black holes in the centre of a galaxy.

You'd probrably be incinerated from the sun's that are usually sucked into black holes as well...I still don't get what a whit hole is though...if it's the opposite does it push out instead of suck in like a black hole?
