Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Idk, things Ignitus said lead me to believe all dragons know how to use at least 1 element (probably not very well, hence the importance of guardians)

Oh great, my lighthouse is on fire again, be right back...

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Well perhaps that will be revealed in whatever comes out next....personally I think every dragon does have an element.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

I like the idea that every dragon has an element but only a few can master theirs. But I also like the idea that only certain dragons are born with elemental powers. The characteristics of the Warfang dragons show a generic creature with no elemental signifiers (colors, special horn/spike patterns, etc) that makes me think that at least all of those dragons have no elemental powers at all.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Or I could take the realistic approach and say that the developers were too lazy to customize each dragon alone. Would have been nice to see that....but in the end it could swing either way I suppose.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Actually, the information given in ANB and TEN really does support the idea that only Guardians and those meant to be Guardians when they grow up are elemental.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Well I have not taken the time to notice such small elements of the games. Seeing as how I really have not gone through them in quite sometime....but having dragons with no element in particular leaves them with what?..a dragon with no specific power seems pretty boring.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

A dragon with no elements is only boring if you think of him as being so. Personally, a think a dragon with no powers is more interesting than one with power. The Guardians, Spyro and Cynder are all pretty stereotypical because of their powers, whereas a simple country/city fighting dragon has a lot more story to tell because he doesn't get to be special.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

Well personally I think a dragon with powers is more interesting....but that's just me after all.  Seeing as how I don't see many dragons throughout history's records that hasn't at least been able to breath fire or command some kind of power...but anyone can interpret it how the see fit to do so.

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

But the dragon could have some sort of other ability, melee like has been said, or mabye some sort of physic or some sort of future seeing power.

OMG, they're all pariahs! Run! big_smile

(The pariah is a dragon with no elemental power and a great many physical problems but who possesses the forbidden power over the mind. She's very crazy. big_smile)

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

I wouldn't like it if my mind was being controlled by something else to be honest, but if that was a power in the next spyro game say as another dragon character, (just guessing here) it would be quite useful as you could set enemies on each other smile

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

If you upgrade Cynder's powers in DotD, I think one of them does do that. But mind control in games doesn't really work (see "Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves").

Re: Unknown Dragon Helping Spyro and the Guardians.

I always thought it was Cyril with lighting making his head look red.  I hope it is another dragon.  I've always had a problem with Cynder being the only female in the entire series (besides Sparx's mother), so maybe there are more dragons, male and female.

Yo, Spyro
I'm really happy for you, but Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best platformers of all time.
