Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
OK, so guys, which game in your opinion had the best soundtrack?
I'd definitely have to say StD. It wasn't repetitive... and it sounded like a hit album. The others had that atmosphere, but were just to repetitive, and sickening.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
The first one has the best soundtrack along with the third. 2 was meeehhhhh....
And if by repetitive you mean using the same songs over, I notice that High Caves, Tree Tops, and Wizard peak all have the same soundtrack only different speed: From fastest to slowest;
Wizard Peak ---> Tree Tops ---> High Caves
Also, Misty Bog has a tune similar to the credits but a few different notes are in the background
OffTopic: For that third screenshot in your sig, did you figure out that Get-outside-of-The-Dragon-Shores-Level Glitch I found or is that shot from a gaming site, etc?
EDIT: Or is that a diff level? It looks like Dragon Shores
Ahaha I better shut up.
I'm way too off topic.
Oh god, looking at my old posts on here are absolutely cringeworthy. Hard to believe I made any friends, lol.

Defiently STD. Spyro 3 music was just bleh...
And responding to bananababy, Wizard Peak soundtrack is nothing like treetops or high caves. and the high caves soundtrack is completely original on the pal version:

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Hm...strange, it's similar to High Caves and Tree Tops on my NTSC copy of the game.
IDK, I'm confusing myself. :explodes:

I voted Spyro the Dragon. The music was better when Stewart Copeland was working alone. The music from the other two wasn't bad though.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Some of the tracks in YOTD were good like Cloud Spires and Fireworks Factory. But some were pure crap (like Shiela's alp)

I love STD music. The opening theme is actually my favourite piece of Spyro music from every game ever released.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Spyro the Dragon had the best music by far. It always puts me in a good mood when I put it on in the morning. Copeland really outdid himself with it.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Well the originals just really blended with the gameplay so well...Copeland made every single note and chord in tune with the game...and it payed off in enticing the players.
LoS music is good...but nothing will ever compare to Copeland's style and blend.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Yeah....Copeland did some incredible work there....nothing that someone can really repeat unless they have the same drive to put everything they can into their music.....LoS was good....but it could have been improved just like everything else.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Misty bog has got to have the best soundtrack (in my opinion) of course its
just a remix kinda thing of the credit music which i also like a lot
Then I also like magic crafters home world, toasty, stone hill, title scene, artisans home wrld, beast maker's home world ( idk why i like this one) o_O , peace keeper's alternate, stone hill alternate, alpine ridge, crystal flight, wild flight, icy flight, the list goes on...
as you can tell i voted for spyro the dragon the only good music that i can
think out of the top of my head for YOTD, is molten crater, and i liked
the peacefulness of the second game RR, especially summer forest
so overall i like all the games' soundtrack, for different reasons but when
it comes to my favorite it is spyro the dragon
(also cause it brings back so many good memories
good times, good times
but spyro RR brings back many good memories also actually more
(that's why it's my fav. game in the originals)
YOTD same thing but not as many but still a lot ![]()

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Well he actually put some serious though and passion into the music...adding his own little taste to every single level was the way to go when showing you have a passion for what you are doing.
The more of your own talent and love for doing what you do into a game...the better the overall quality will turn out in the end...and he pulled it off perfectly. Certainly has left quite a legacy.

Re: Best Soundtrack - PS1 games
Well remember, Copeland already had experience as a drummer from The Police on his resume - pretty good if you ask me.
Also, one of the reasons why he captured the experience of each level so well was because he was forced to play through the levels before composing to get a feel of each level's general atmosphere.
