And that would be why I dove for the 30-Gig iPod as opposed to those crappy 1 to 8 Gig iPods.

When my iPod dies, I think I'll get a different player though, and convert my .aac's to .mp3s. Only reason I got an iPod was that so people could give me iTunes for gifts. XD

heh im spoilt by my mum's families. Im probably getting the 30g one, Teh for Christmas. Its all gonna be filled mostly with Linkin Park and Madina Lake.

I don't see the point in listening to an ipod really. I mean I see people walking around outside with them and I just find it kind of rude for a few reasons. I mean they can't hear any cars coming and they kind of block off the rest of the world, as if it's not interesting enough for them, even though they're out there willingly, so they have to drown it out with lame songs they've heard 50 times.

But yeah I just have a CD player that I only listen to while at the gym.

I have a 30gb Zune. tongue It's a black zune with a kind of greenish-bluish tinge to the outside...Hold on, I'll find a pic..

Kinda like this only not as glossy. And there are a few minor differences. And, mine, if you shine a light behind it, and look at it from an angle, Has transparent-ish corners kinda. With a blue-green hue.

IMO, there are times when it's perfectly fine to use an Ipod and other times where it's less appropriate. For example, it's fine if you're doing nothing but waiting (e.g. bus ride) but when it comes to social activity (e.g. dinnertime conversation), you really shouldn't be listening to your Ipod.

Well even on a bus ride it's kind of rude, I think. Like if someone's trying to get your attention, or if you miss your stop and act like it's the bus driver's fault (believe it or not this actually happens).

Even then I can understand though. But when you're walking it's just a combination of rude and dangerous, I think.

Honestly though I don't see any reason why people need to have that much music with them at any given time anyway. Even 8 gigabytes is a bit much. If I'm listening to music it's just at home but really who needs 8 gigs worth of music. I mean it's one thing to have it but for all of it to qualify as important enough to have to carry around with you everywhere... I mean just jesus.

I've been walking to and fro from the same place for years now and it becomes a bit dull to "take in my sorroundings," so I listen to music. If I don't have music I'll daydream anyway and not pay attention to what's going on around me. I can use this time to listen to music that my friends recommend to me anyway. I only become aware of things when I'm crossing streets, and then I usually pause it or lower the volume until I finish crossing it, unless the street isn't very busy.

I own a Zune by the way, not an ipod.
