The original games will never be gone. Trust me their are plenty upon plenty of fans of the original games lurking around....and to many of us the games are just as good now as they were 11 years ago...and that will never change.

Yes, but they've stopped making PS1 games so very soon the first three games could be hard to find in this insane world.

That reminds me of Descent and Freespace...very old 1st person arcade style space-sim shooter that utilizes six degrees of freedom. I still have a copy of one game from each of those series and I'm still amazed how unique they are. You can move anywhere in space and so can the enemy so you always have to be aware of your surroundings. There isn't any camera controls or radar which makes a huge difference so you can't just use the camera to peek around a corner instead of your character doing it.

What if six degrees of freedom combat in gravity based locations were taken into account... that of might spice up the combat portion in TLoS games. It's 3D so up, down, left, right, front, and back... are all exposed to attack. It's a complex thing so I won't bore you with the details.

A world without Spyro would indeed be very different

Spyro was what got me into gaming and game design in the first place, I can't imagine how many other people it has inspired.

Who knows. I'm sure it would have vastly affected many different aspects. It helped usher in something new when the gaming industry needed it the most.

Spyro was pretty much Insomniac's claim to fame both nationally and internationally and helped spur their success with Rachet and Clank.

I just hope Sierra's influence on the purple dragon doesn't spiral down like what happened after Year of the Dragon. They've got a great thing going here.

They certainly have something with a lot of potential. They have to know how to handle it now...and figure out ways to make it better. Right now they really need to build upon DotD and really put a lot into the next game. Hopefully the extension of time will help them out in this project.

I think they'll still be going on with the seris, but if they don't make Spyro and Cynder be together as in going out or something they willl have a serious problem!

They've set themselves up in DotD for that, if they don't have them continue there's a good chance it'll be a shot in the foot. I did some looking around and it seems Cynder may have a bigger fanbase than her purple comrade, and the popularity of Spyro&Cynder is incredible, so separating them would probably doom the series unless it's expertly pulled off over time.

I doubt she has a bigger fanbase, Spyro's been around longer. She does have a very large fanbase though.

From what my ISP would let me find, I'm seeing more pro-cynder than pro-spyro. It seems a lot of previous fans were disgusted with Spyro's new form and direction, but that's pretty much natural. Things evolve, they can't always be the way they were.

Doesn't matter whose fanbase is bigger tho; the fact remains that Sierra's dug a hole with that final line of the game and they pretty much have to follow through XD

I love both of them, I love all Spyro games the same.. Except for Enter the Dragonfly, even though I love that game too...
It's hard to compare any of them for me.

How can people be disgusted by Spyro's new look? I think he looks awesome..
