Re: Elora in DotD, or future Spyro games

Well they should have included more then one female dragon character in each storyline...at least it would have spread out some of this rediculous romance issues and such...and they would have focused on several other developing characters rather then just one single one..especially if everyone already knows how things will turn out between them..

Re: Elora in DotD, or future Spyro games

I'm not sure you guys understand the correct definition of Mary Sue.

"Mary Sue, sometimes shortened simply to Sue, is a pejorative term used to describe a fictional character who plays a major role in the plot and is particularly characterized by overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as wish-fulfillment fantasies for their authors and/or readers."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue

I don't really see how Cynder fits this definition, unless Mike Graham and Chris Wilson are rather odd individuals. Cynder falls into a number of epic story archetypes, yes, and many of her fans have made her out to be a Sue, but in general, she is not one.

Ember, however... That's a Sue if ever I saw one.

And BOT. Elora would fit nicely into LoS and should be put in. big_smile

Re: Elora in DotD, or future Spyro games

I do know what a Mary Sue is...and I do not agree with Cynder's supposed fit into that definition....for as far as I can see and tell...she was a very strong female character that played a very important part in the story...and she is by far the most interesting female character ever introduced in anything Spyro related....and as for Elora being in the new games...I still can't see that happening...but you never know it is certainly possible..

Re: Elora in DotD, or future Spyro games

I can't agree with Cynder being the most interesting female in the Spyro games. Elora has her beat there. Cynder's just another dragon, but Elora is a faun! big_smile A faun who is an incredibly capable leader, is interested in science, and has the hots for quadrupeds. How is that not awesome? big_smile By comparison, Cynder is a bit generic. She's less generic than most of the characters in LoS, but she's not exceptionally original either.

Re: Elora in DotD, or future Spyro games

Well everyone will have a different opinion about it lol...the Elora character in general I really just didn't see much going for...yeah she was interesting and everything...but I didn't get the feel for the character herself...hence why I have never held that much interest in her...but if they decided to bring her back they would have the chance to do so...but I think Cynder will always be a step above seeing as how she is the same species after all lol...like I said everyone will have something different to say about it..
