What caused your change in opinion?

What am i supposed to select if I want to vote for one of them, but not because they're cute? (even though they are). I go for new Spyro, 'coz 'The Legend of Spyro' is the only series I've played, so far. And he's voiced by Elijah Woods, which sounds cool, although Spyro's voice in Ripto's Rage [I think its that one?] sounded good too. And 'Spyro the dragon' looks like an awesomely classic game, i'll admit.

Oh, I just sat down one night and did some thinking... Honestly, I'd been trying to decide between the two series for a while.

Yeah, Elijah Wood did a great job. So did Tom Kenny.

Spyro the Dragon was great, but if you ever get the opportunity to buy Year of the Dragon, I highly recommend the game.

Evidence that A guy Doesn't care if a Series completely changes for the better or the Worse.
And REALLY LOVES CHANGE.

Re: old or new spyro?

Old Spyro > New spyro.

Honestly this franchise I see is suffering from the Sonic Syndrome. It was good when it began but then just started adding more poinless characters, and becoming nothing but a fan service.

I stopped keeping up with spyro after Enter The Dragonfly, because to be completely honest, that game, although having wonderfully awesome graphics, had horrible control as far as the d-pad went, had massive loading time, and overall didn't have to look and feel of the 3 that came before it (console wise)

I would vote, but the word cute keeps me from doing so, therefore, as far as the poll goes, I remain nuetral.

Re: old or new spyro?

Haha, Enter the Dragonfly had awesome graphics? Really?

I think Enter the Dragonfly is at least so bad that it's funny, like The Zelda CD-I games. When I played it with my friends the other day we just couldn't stop laughing at everything, including the glitches. (Of course when I look back and realize that this was the game responsible for sending the series to its downward spiral, then it's not very amusing.) The new games don't even give me that little pleasure at least.

Well, I thought the grapics were rather good yes, but that's not necessarily the point I was making across.

I'm not sure if a game can pale in comparison to how horrible Zelda CD-i is. Really, I've played the game and yes, it's laughably bad, but I, at least, was able to beat Spyro Enter The Dragonfly within about 3 weeks.

I like the new Spyro. Especially in Dawn of the Dragon. Vicious and cute at the same time.

It was kind of odd that it created a meme like probably a year after the videos went online. I saw them and had a good laugh, and then 4chan a few months later started posting them up everywhere. I had wondered what took them so long.

ETD made me laugh profoundly with friends, that's what I got out of it. It kind of reminds me of those cheap rip-offs that they make out of Pixar movies. (IE. Ratatoing and Little Cars.) I can never watch that first cutscene without laughing because it's so horrible.

I really hope you're not saying that 4chan made YTP. If you are, I should correct you majorly right there.

Re: old or new spyro?

No, but they did start posting the videos on their site and then making a bunch of redraws of other famous characters or celebrities in that style then adding phrases like "[insert character] mah boiiii" or "gee, I wonder what [insert character] is up to." But who cares about 4chan.

YTPs were just as late though.

No no no. YTP was not created with CD-i. This was the first ever YTP.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suSSdHr8sog

Adaptations to CD-i and YTP were later done by a youtuber under the name "MrSimonAlt" or as he now calls himself "ElectricTheCheese". After that, /b/tards went completely insane and jumped all over the fad.

I'll skip the war on AIDS part though.

Um, I am quite aware of where YTPs came from. The point I was trying to make is that everyone, including 4chan, was late in jumping into a CD-i fad, whether it be making YTPs of it or that redraw meme, because the original videos of the CD-i games came out so long ago on some european site and it was a year after I and other people had seen them that they had started to spread. Everyone was like "hahaha look at these videos of this cheap game HOW FUNNY" and I was just like "yes sorry, I've seen them and had my laugh months ago."

I've never found YTPs to be funny until other people started getting more creative with them. It's too bad the guy who made some of the best got banned.

Long story short, fads are dumb and 4chan ruins them.

I'd rather you say /b/ instead of 4chan. 4chan's not a bad place, it's just the /b/ is the cancer killing it.

4Chan, You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

from what ive seen its a series of discussion boards, so a little like a forum except in a different format

at least thats my interpretation

and for the record im sure i saw some thread that revolved around posting naked pictures or something, so itd be safe to say the /b/ board is not the only tumour thats arisen

and if you want a warning of just how bad it can be, my first visit to /b/ i was greeted with a picture of a man with his genitals in a vice

youve been warned

[sub]Might I remind you all that this is a thread about old or new Spyro, not 4chan. =P[/sub]

[sub]When I first played Enter the Dragonfly, I thought the graphics were amazing, but that was because it was my first non-PSX game. Compared to other PS2 games, no, it's not great.

I actually fooled myself into thinking that ETD was good when it first came out.... Hah. That game is the reason we have this reboot now. -___-[/sub]
