old or new spyro?
i personally love both!! spyros cute in both the new ones and the old ones!! but theres one thing that every spyro fan should hear. im perfectly fine with you liking the old series better or the new series. but if you hate the old series or the new series then i feel really bad for you cus then i would probably hate you and if your a true spyro fan you would never think that spyros ugly or ever hate him!!!! and if you just plain hate spyro, then wtf are you doing on spyroforum?!?!?!!
i like spyro more than anyone. Stewie: yes, nothing says "eat up" like a bleeding half-naked jew. shes a doggy artist. yay go doggy go!! artist.http://bkness.deviantart.com/art/Unique-92000263 great job bkness!!

[sub]What's wrong with not liking one version of Spyro? I, for example, am not going to just start liking the new games simply because they're called "Spyro". I just don't like that style of games. [/sub]
OK, here's an example. I'm going to totally recreate TLoS Spyro. He's now a giant, two-legged, purple dragon-ish looking thing holding a gun. The object of the game is to destroy the world by shooting all the humans and eating their heads off.
What's that? You don't like it? Well, you can't accept change, then. The game is called "Spyro", after all. Just get used to it, or you're not a true fan.
[sub]As for the "you're not a true fan" argument: it makes no sense. I'm a fan of the old games, and some people are fans of the new games. You don't have to like both to be a fan. Good for you if you do, but that doesn't mean someone isn't a "true fan" if they don't.
One more thing: You don't need to feel sorry for me because you hate me. 0__o [/sub]

That sound fun >=)
Also, I don't consider male dragons "cute", so I'm going to have to decline on answering this poll.

Re: old or new spyro?
What exactly are we discussing here? Whether we like the new or old series, or whether we like Spyro's old or new design? Because your post is kind of confusing me. (Even though I've answered both questions several times on other posts with "old" to both.)

What?
Um, everyone's allowed to have their own opinions, you know.
I personally like Spyro better in the older version.

Re: old or new spyro?
Both of them...sorta. I was completely surprise when I saw the new look of him. When I saw him on my ACT II popcorn box I went, "ACK! What the heck is that thing?! ...Oh no" That was a long time ago. Now I like the way he looks in DotD at the moment.
I don't care how it looks but how it functions

I was at work >_>
Old Spyro is awesome
New Spyro is a completely different game and is only considered a "Spyro Game" because it features spyro
and again
New Spyro is a completely different game
i said it twice so you dont miss that, because i am aware that spyro 1 and spyro 2 were different games, however since the theme/genre/gameplay/characters/personalities were the same, its a big difference to the game which changed the theme/genre/gameplay/characters/personalities of the Spyro series
heck, sonic the hedgehog from what ive seen has gone through a number of reboots, and yet he still retains the same personality, and the same style of gameplay, the purpose of a reboot is most commonly to change the story, not everything
and the story, didnt... need... changing...
end of story... unfortunately

Re: old or new spyro?
Took Fletch long enough to get here.
NOW RELEASE THE DOGS OF WAR!!!!
Speaking of war...
Westwood were the original creators of the C&C series. The gameplay had the same few basics-deploy a construction yard, build your base, destroy the enemy's base. I'm not saying that it was BAD (no, I'm a complete C&C addict), but EA eventually took over Westwood and came out with a new C&C game, Generals. It changed many of the basics of C&C (for instance, instead of a construction yard building your structures, units do). Of course, there were many people that hated it, but there were also many people (like me) that loved it.
So change in gameplay isn't always a bad thing.

Man, it's not just the gameplay that was changed.
New Spyro is a completely different game and is only considered a "Spyro Game" because it features spyro
"Hey guys! Our games are so unbelievably mediocre and not worth your money, but look, it has that character you like! See? See? Cash please."
I never even thought it was Spyro, just some dragon that coincidentally looks like him and they named him Spyro for the sake of making some bucks. This is what ticks me off so much. They had a nice opportunity to make an entirely new series with an entirely new dragon (heck maybe even Cynder as the main character, since people seem to like her so much) but no, they have to drag the name "Spyro" down with them. So now I know several people who, when hearing the name "Spyro," instead of thinking "Oh yeah, those were the fun classic games for the PSX" now they think "Oh yeah those were the games that were passed around and made into an awful 'serious business' series." Everyone keeps saying that Sierra saved the Spyro series from dying, but honestly, I would have preferred for it to die in a good name, than knowing it as the latter quote.

Re: old or new spyro?
Whether it is mediocre or not is your opinion. I personally believe that the new games were an improvement-I don't consider them mediocre.

Re: old or new spyro?
Right, although by majority votes from the critics, it's technically considered a mediocre game among the market. They were mostly just looking to "improve" the storyline to attract attention, in my opinion not really putting forth their best effort regardless of money, like Insomniac did.
