Do you love Cynder or hate her?

i hope i'm not beating a dead horse (or reviving it, then beating it), but i just thought i'd throw in another (hopefully reasonable) voice of support for cynder.

i do agree that the character development and background on her are lacking. as someone else said, the backstory is decent.. but the fact that there's little detail i think pulls in some people who find the little that is known interesting.

a lot could be discussed (or written, and i'm sure many fan writers have already) about whether or not there's any amnesia (especially after seeing the conversation with the hermit in DotD) and how extensive it might be.. how much is she responsible for the things she did under the influence of malefor's magic, etc.

i just see an interesting character with potential for development, and i'm sad they didn't go into it further in the game itself, but as was also said, _spyro_ is the main character, not cynder.

just another side comment... glad to see i'm not the only person (forgive me, i've never gotten into the community of spyro fans before) who thinks spyro is/could be ignitus' son. i definitely support that theory.
as for the other elders, i like them all in their own way, though i do find cyril a little pompous at times and volteer a bit too yappy (love the sig pic, maniac on wheels).

Cynders awesome. I play as her on DotD, since i only play it on 2p with my gf. I honestly think she's more effective as spyro, plus i was getting bored of the fire-earth-ice-wind thing. It was fun experimenting with her abilities. Shadow is my favorite.

I like Cynder. She has a dark backstory and makes a more unique character than Elora, Sgt. Byrd, ect. However, since it's a video game, the amount of character development on her is limited, so she loses a lot of potential. Also her DotD voice acter made her sound like a prep and couldn't do her lines very well.

I wouldn't exactly call her Over-rated, but I voted that I like her. I'm not one of the ones who sees her as a god, I just really love her design and her dark back story. In DotD I liked her even more for her somewhat sassy attitude, and she was really fun to play as, in my opinion. As for the Spyro x Cynder, I never 100% supported it, but it was something I wanted to see, but I will admit I was happy when it went canon. I'm also not one of the ones who said "Omg, SxC was canon from the start, LOLLER!!!". Bottom line, I'm just a fan, not a worshiper, I think she is cool.

Pretty sure I'm kind of reiterating what other people have already said, but I'm an in-betweener. Love drawing Cynder's larger form, loved her when she was a villain, but kind of began to slope down on liking her through TEN. Didn't like how she looked as a young dragoness, still don't, don't like her overall personality all that much. Period. Can't really explain why, I just don't. :\

The whole SxC pairings bring down my liking to her even more; I don't see Spyro as a character that would have a lover.

In a sense, depending on your POV, she IS overrated.

This is exactly the reason people don't like Cynder. All the fans are saying all these dumb non-serious things about her.

I don't hate Cynder, but I like her a lot less because of all the people who go around making the "OMG shes hawt" comments.

It's a perfectly good reason. Eventually I started to associate those comments (and the annoyance that comes with them) with the character herself.

It's a good reason to be mad at the fans (altough I personally don't care), but why are you mad at the character herself? Don't hate Cynder, hate the fans who say that annoying stuff.

I've just explained: I don't hate Cynder, but I unintentionally associate the annoyance I get from the fans with the character, meaning Cynder annoys me a little now because she's so overrated.

I chose 'love her'. I was going to say 'somewhere in the middle,' but I think I feel more than like towards her, so...there you go. Cynder seems to be a controversial character in these parts, which I understand- she didn't get a whole lot of screen time in the first two games, which means that we didn't get to see a whole lot of her personality, and yet look at her fanbase- she seems to be even more popular than the titular character himself!

Still...I like her. Something about her caught my attention from the very first game. Her gorgeous design was probably what did it (because yes, I am just that shallow ^^), but she kept my attention through all three games. I think it's because of the potential she offers to her audience- as certain artists and authors have proven *coughRAZZcough*, she is a wealth of fanart and fanfic opportunities. While this can be said for just about everything in the Legend of Spyro series, it can't be ignored that Cynder is the only female character. She's the first female dragon to ever have a main role in the Spyro franchise (aside from Ember, who only had, like, five minutes' worth of interaction with Spyro in AHT, and who I don't really think counts), which probably explains her popularity amongst female fans in particular.

And, uh...have I mentioned that she's really pretty? ...Yes? Okay, then, I'll shut up now.

Yes, very pretty. I just love her design, espicially since red and black are my favorite colors put together. I've liked her ever since I first saw her in ANB. And I agree with everything SpaceKase put. smile And Hail The Ice Dragon.

2. Elora (that would be wrong i mean if there were aliens would you love them)
3. a dragoness that tied to Destory you but was only a tool and now is a sweet dragon that loves you (oh wait they all love you tongue ) and still blames herself for stuff

PS. It's pretty possible to love an alien if they existed and are capable of having conversations with you. What about Futurama? There was that one chick who had a relationship with some alien guy. This doesn't have anything to do with Elora, but I'm just sayin'.
