someone i work with said the exact same thing, and i had to admit, whilst i dont remember much about reading the last 2, it does seem to lack the ability to draw me in to the degree the other books did

Yay, I got the book! I remembered I had a Target gift card, so I bought it. Beats waiting for 90 other people to finish it first. =P

Re: Is anyone getting 'Brisingr', the third book in the Inheritance cycle? (sequel to Eragon & Eldest)

Though I have never read the books at all (since I don't read that much anyway) I was planning to get them just to see if they are as good as people seem to make out (and it gives me something to do at night lol).

And on a side note the sequel movie should soon be announced over the web since I found out some info about it on a website related to Eragon and it supposedly has a realise date for 26th Feb 2009.

Either way I will be planning to get the books as soon as I can find them and afford them smile because I rather enjoyed the movie so yeah I want to read the books big_smile

I read Brisingr the first day it came out. Eragon and Eldest were awesome, so was Brisingr.

I just finished it last night.

I agree; I wish he could have just included the rest of the story in one very fat book. Now I'll have to wait another two years. T__T

Two years?! WTH! He seemed much quicker at turning the first two out.... I agree, he's getting very slow. Though I don't think its necessarily laziness. More like too many book-signings and books tours and not enough writing!

Re: Is anyone getting 'Brisingr', the third book in the Inheritance cycle? (sequel to Eragon & Eldest)

8 July 2000
21 June 2003
16 July 2005
21 July 2007

3 years, 2 years, 2 years

to best my knowledge those are the accurate release dates of the 4th through 7th harry potter books, now im not commenting on whether rowling or paolini have had fame go to their heads, but if they have i sincerely doubt it has much of anything to do with the dates they release their books at

try writing a book and juggling publicity tours at the same time and we'll see whether or not your capable of pushing them out annually

Good point, Fletch.... Then again, Brian Jacques managed it, except the odd-year.... But, you're right, none of us here have likely written a best-selling book, so who are we to judge?

then say so silly, lotsa people dont like him, i have grudges against jk rowling myself (if you want to talk about fame going to someone's head), but in saying that i still appreciate what she's done and enjoy her books and dont judge her too harshly since i have yet to do what she has done, and therefore dont know how i would react

Eh. I just have a tendancy to say what I feel like sayiing without brain work. But still, Brinsigar or w/e the hell it is called was better than Eldest and was about the same as the first book in terms of 'omg...idk'

"In terms of 'omg...idk'?" What do you mean by that?

I liked the books, but I have to admit they get a little boring at times. War scenes don't really interest me.
