Do you want to have children of your own?

Do you want to have children of your own? (please let me know if there is a similar topic elsewhere already).

If yes, how many? What would you name them?
If no, why?

I don't want kids. I'd rather spend all my money on myself instead of any children (how selfish of me :-P ).

Man forget about having kids. I mean if you could maybe skip the first 3 years or so and just skip to the part where they don't crap in their own pants and run head-first into sharp corners and wake me up at night.

While it's kind of disappointing how many people don't want children today, going so far as to call them a 'hassle', I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Sure, it's difficult, but I'd much prefer dying with a small tribe of grandkids surrounding my bed!

I'll have to vote Yes myself - certainly a decade or two down the line, but I'm up for the challenge of raising a mini-me-plus-somebody-else. XD

I don't know how many I'd want. At least one.

I think I'd want one girl and one boy, close to the same age, so they'll hopefully grow up with some respect for the opposite gender.[/sub]

Hee hee, of course it's a drain. It'll always be a drain until the earth explodes, but I don't think there's anything like seeing your own flesh and blood grow up over the years. Children are worth more than money to me.

I am more concerned about my life. There are several things that I can do that would be impossible with children. I don't really consider myself selfish (not saying you were calling me that) because I don't want to have kids-it does no harm if they never exist in the first place.

By the way, I'm not trying to say "z0MG! K1D5 5UCK!!!!!111111". I just do not want to have them, as I feel that I have better things to do with my life.

That would be ideal. They would learn tolerance and interaction skills towards each other as well. Unfortunately we donâ€™t have much control over what gender they will be, though.

I guess it has itâ€™s proâ€™s and conâ€™s. And maybe some of us (maybe even me) might have a change of opinion a few years or decades down the track, if our circumstances and attitudes have changed.

I love spending time with family. Be it uncles, aunts, grandparents, siblings, or cousins.

I wouldn't mind having a family of my own, about a decade or a decade and a half down the road.

Life is unpredictable. You never know what might happen, though.

I want to wait until I'm at least 28 before I have one, though. That way I have time to finish college, get married, get a good job, etc.

Am I the only one that is undecided? I can't really think that far into the future. It all depends on what happens in the future. The way I think when I'm 15 will differ than the way I think when I am in my 20's or 30's.

I also love spending time with family, especially grandparents, who could pass on any day now. Unfortunately we don't all live in the same city and we usually only have a get-together once a year, on Christmas day.
