Interesting....

BEFORE YOU READ THIS: I want to say that I don't want to offend anyone with this post.

Some "8/9 year olds" are saying sexy and like hot ad stuff. But don't you think it's a little misleading for an 8/9 year old to be saying this stuff?

Re: Interesting....

It depends on who they're talking about...xD Just kidding...
Well as long as they know what they're saying and that they're not saying it all the time, I personally think it's fine. *shrug*
I say that about people...in groups...hahah...

Re: Interesting....

Ugh. Yeah, I've noticed younger kids starting to do that. 4th graders at my school are swearing like their lives depend on it, teachers are reading books with swear words in them aloud to kids, and several kids in my 5th grade class were talking about who they supposedly "went out" with in 3rd Grade!!!!!

I don't like swearing at all, and I don't want to date until I'm at least 14.

Re: Interesting....

I don't have cable, but when I visit my dad or go over to a friend's house then I'll watch some TV. I usually watch cartoon network, and the worst show I've wathed on there is probably Total Drama Island, which is rated PG. I don't watch anything like Hellboy.

Speaking of Hellboy, my mom used to babysit two little girls when I was maybe 8 or so, and the oldest one (who was 5) asked my mom if she could watch Hellboy, and when my mom said no she complained because she said that her mom let her watch it (and those movies are rated 14 and older for some intense violence/ language)

Re: Interesting....

D: I'm so glad I was raised to by good parents. cussing and "dating" at such a young age is just wrong, because cussing isn't cool, no matter what 6th graders say.

ugh, let me tell you, I only know four 6th graders who are actually nice. All the others are jerks who think they're so cool because they cuss and "date." I don't think half of them even know what dating is. They just all of a sudden say that they're "going out" and then a bunch of people will come up to them and say stuff like "oh my god, really?" or "who is he?", and then they don't even hang out with their supposed bf/gf. X( makes me sick.

Re: Interesting....

[sub]Sixth graders, dating? Ugh, no.

Things like this seriously annoy me. You date because you like someone, not to give yourself "cool status" or something. In my opinion, you shouldn't date unless you can seriously consider marrying the person, and sixth graders are waaay too young to be getting married.

It's the media, I'm sure of it. If you've ever watched Disney Channel for five minutes, you'll know what I mean. The shows are clearly aimed at young kids, and all they seem to talk about is "omg mah bf cheated on meh wtfrog". >_>

Re: Interesting....

ugh, I know what you mean. That's why I hardly ever watch disney channel (unless, of course, monsters inc is on wink) I don't want to watch some stupid show where in basically every single episode the main character gets a new bf/gf.

I blame the parents who don't know what their children are watching/reading/listening to/playing

honestly, there's no point blaming the media for things, its like saying that supermodel pictures are making women anorexic, we live in a day and age where most people (that I've met) are well aware that its not healthy or even attractive to most men, to be that skinny, and that flawless skin doesnt exist without plastic surgery and airbrushing

if youre going to blame something, you need to blame the parents, they are in control of what their child does or does not watch, they are the ones who need to teach their children the difference between right and wrong, TV can only affect children if theyre allowed to watch it

I for example have watched a hell of a lot of TV, frankly its helped me more than anything, I have an extremely extensive general knowledge and a lot of it has come from picking up random facts from watching TV, it helps that I have something close to a photographic memory

Re: Interesting....

Dude whats wrong with dating at a young age. In my opinion thats was the best years of my life. Girls in my school would starer at me if i asked one out but still there are other ways. Thats what they invented note passing for. Seriously one of the best girlfriends i had was when i was in first grade. Great name and personality.

When it comes to cussing at that age well thats another story. The least i will say is that i don't ride the bus anymore because of all the weirdo stuff that happens on them. As if that was the only place to do so. Again i ask "what is wrong with dating at a young age"? if anything thats were the phobia of asking a girl out. I am happy to say that i have an eye on some one at school that i am going to ask out. Wish me luck when school starts. Hopefully she will say yes and then my Senior year will be better than the Junior year that just past.

Fell in love with Spyro when I was little. I played it with my friends. They went different ways over time and I refused to let this go. I am seventeen and still enjoy playing the old games as well as the new. Game makers are of their own and I have no reason to disagree because they made it perfect

the majority of relationships formed at young ages will be superficial and meaningless, when they end it will cause pain for at least one of the 2 parties, and it was all for nothing.

also, kids nowadays are maturing faster (in the physical sense not the mental) so the sooner they experience relationships, the sooner their horny little minds tell them to do it like they do on the discovery channel

[sub]I think you mean Disney Channel? =P

Anyway, besides that, you're exactly right. Kids younger than 13 especially are much too young to understand fully what dating really means. "Superficial and meaningless" pretty much sums it up, because the so-called "relationships" are only formed to make the kids feel that they're cool and popular just like Hannah Montana; they're not formed out of love for the other person.
