Re: Should I be Concerned?

The only thing I can think of is Parkinsons disease. Its either that or maybe your a late case of tourettes, but its probably just temporary

Re: Should I be Concerned?

best idea is to go to the Dr or if youre really worried then the emergency place at the hospital, unless anyone here is a doctor, they arent going to be able to give you a really accurate answer, and you really dont wanna mess around with your health the sooner you get it checked out the better

Re: Should I be Concerned?

Warning signs are something you won't be able to tell yourself. Normally your pupils dialate you start losing control and spaz. Best thing to do is let it run itself down and hold the person down

the only time id be really worried is if your left arm goes numb, i think youd be very aware if you were having a seizure, as far as i know they tend to hit you fairly quickly rather than giving warning signs

either way, here are some things that might help with the spasms

Re: Should I be Concerned?

~~SIGNS OF A  SEIZURE~~
Seizures sometimes give off a warning sign before they start. Sometimes it'll feel like a tingling sensation in the stomach. Some people may begin to see bright lights or stars. Some people may smell something (like the smell of burning rubber). Suddenly, they just find themselves lying on the floor.

What's a common sign of a seizure? For the majority of people who have seizures, there's one symptom that follows having a seizure--a very intense feeling of fatigue. They could be just waking up in the morning, have a little movement with their arm, and minutes later they are asleep. Some people who've had Grand Mal seizures or even partial seizures will literally lie down on the floor and be asleep within minutes.

Motor signs include the following:

    * alternating contraction and relaxation of muscle groups
    * eye movements and turning of the head to the same side
    * asymmetrical posturing of the limbs
    * speech arrest, vocalization

Sensory symptoms include the following:

    * seeing flashes of lights or colors, illusions and hallucinations
    * hearing humming, buzzing, hissing noises
    * experiencing unpleasant odors and tastes
    * dizziness, lightheadedness

Autonomic signs and symptoms include the following:

    * borborygmi (rumbling noises produced by gas in the intestines)
    * flushing
    * incontinence
    * nausea, vomiting
    * piloerection (goose bumps)
    * pupillary dilation
    * sweating
    * tachycardia (rapid heart rate)

Psychic symptoms include the following:

    * detachment, depersonalization
    * dreamy state
    * memory distortion: flashback, deja vu (feeling that one has seen something before), deja entendu (feeling that one has heard something before), jamais vu (feeling that one has never seen something that is familiar), jamais entendu (feeling that one has never heard something that is familiar), panoramic vision (rapid recall of past events)
    * time distortion
    * unprovoked emotion: fear, pleasure, displeasure, depression, anger, elation, eroticism

Re: Should I be Concerned?

The bottom line is, we are no doctors. Tell your parents about it and go to the hospital/clinic and have it checked.

Seriously.

EDIT: Also, getting it checked means finding a solution!

EDIT 2: Also, if you think something is going to happen, TELL IMMEDIATELY, CALL THE PARAMEDICS IF NECESSARY!!!

Re: Should I be Concerned?

I dunno what it is, and I though Charlie horses were when you have a very painful crap that just gets worse until you walk on it, not a complete twitch. But still, go see a doctor, best thing you can do.

Re: Should I be Concerned?

You said that lights and such can give you these muscles spasms, am I correct? I believe that this may in fact be a case of epilepsy. Epileptic seizures can come at random, and they can also be affected by strobe effects (flashing lights, patterns, etc.)

Re: Should I be Concerned?

I have twitches and things like that a lot...but I have GTS. And AD/HD.

But, it is safer to call a doctor and have them check you out. Even if it is nothing, it's better to know than not to know.

Re: Should I be Concerned?

I think the more you think of this and get scared, the more symptoms you think you're coming down with. Maybe, I'm not sure, but maybe some of it is in your head.
